Polyface Farms loves Newtown!!!!!. Love, love, love this place! I work for Polyface Farms and love that we have them so close to us! They are huge supporters of local farms (not only ours!!) and even have their own herbs growing out back! It’s so nice to have yummy, healthy, made from scratch food just minutes away! I always encourage anyone who calls about visiting the farm to stop by there and grab some lunch to go! I have always found them to be extremely family friendly (they have a kids table!!!) and are always so sweet and patient when my 8 year old daughter is asking a million questions about bread making! They’re also adding a wood-fired pizza oven soon! If you find yourself near Staunton this is one place you don’t want to miss!!!!!

The food is good if you can put up with surly, rude customer service. I choose not to.
Great bakery. Baguettes, bread, pastries, scones, bagels, croissants are all top quality. As good as you would find in a big city. Or better.
Fabulous. Wow – I just had one of the best croissants I’ve ever had – Newtown Baking’s chocolate. Yum. So fresh, flaky and buttery it literally melted in my mouth. I also recommend the multi grain bread. It’s soft yet has a wonderful component that adds great texture.This baking company is a gem. I was thrilled to find it.
Not family friendly. I have been to this bakery 3 times with my family (hubby and 3 yr old son). The first time we ordered a sandwich and encountered difficulty getting our order right. The second time the staff was unfriendly to my toddler who was touching the bells on the front door (not banging or ringing them, just touching). The third time my friend’s kids were yelled at by the owner for tossing the crayons at the kids play table. She yelled directly at the kids, no explanation to the parents and we were made so uncomfortable that we had to leave. I will not return and do not recommend it to anyone.
