Gourmet, without the attitude. Wow–were we surprised to find this in Staunton! Gelato, made in-house, in flavors that are a great balance of traditional (cookies and cream, chocolate chip cookie-dough) and innovative (Highland Co. Maple, Cocoa Ancho, Baby Ginger, Tiramisu). They source their ingredients locally and have excellent espresso as well as fun table games to play while you enjoy the sweet treats. And everyone is SO friendly! I always felt a little underwhelmed by the ice cream/gelato offerings on Charlottesville’s downtown mall–and now I understand why. The Split Banana Rocks!

Yum. This place is great! They offer a nice variety of sorbets, gelatos, and ice creams. The gelatos are so smooth and flavorful. I also got ice cream (cookies and cream). It was so creamy! I was actually bummed out when my cone ended.The service is great. The girl working behind the counter with the pinkish hair was very friendly. Hope to hit this place up again this summer!
I Scream for this Ice Cream. Get you some raspberry/blackberry sorbet. The flavors here are crazy good. Don’t forget to order you treat in a waffle cone or dish.
Homemade gelato, what’s not to like about that. Quaint shop, large flavor selection and gelato cake too. A gaurenteed smile while at the Banana Split.
Had the Triamasu gelato and it was fantastic. Three days later my 9 year old is still talking about his Carmel latte gelato. It’s a small gourmet ice cream shop that really seems to know what they’re doing.
