The Fancy Biscuit is my favorite place to grab brunch after Chapel. Their entrees and sides are cleverly conceived and artfully executed down to every component. They take southern favorites fused with a modern culinary approach and serve delicious selections that consistently satisfy my tastes. My recommendations include the following Biscuit dishes:Got your goat, (goat cheese, fried chicken thigh, pepper jelly and basamic reduction)Freshy Fresh (poached egg, cheddar cheese, collards, tomatoes)Number 52 (a biscuit eggs benedict with country ham and sriracha hollandaise)Black dog (shrimp and grits meets biscuits and gravy)Stand out sides include:Fried green tomatoes with pimento cheeseDeviled eggs with bacon Cheese grits totsThe drinks are well executed and include quality espresso drinks and brunch cocktails including mimosas. The decor is a cute, bright sort of country chic.
This place is known for all things biscuits related, their boutique restaurant attracting tourists and locals alike. There is a variety of options for meat lovers, and surprisingly they have vegetarian options as well. After much thinking, I decided on the freshy fresh biscuit. The poached egg on the biscuit was good, and was complimentary of the dense biscuit. I personally wasn’t the bigger fan of the biscuit, as I felt it lacked buttery flavor and didn’t have flakiness. I suppose it comes down to preferences. However, the collard greens were unlike others I’ve ever had. I am desperately in need of that recipe! The sauted tomatoes were packed with herbs, and together all of the vegetables made a nice dish. For the price, it was definitely reasonable, especially since I was full after. The person who served my food wore a bright smile and was very attentive to me throughout the meal. It was a cute spot, and I’m lucky to have even found a spot to sit despite the crowd!
