I am usually anti-chain, but Clydes is an exception to my mom and pop rule. On this most recent trip, the clams casino were flavorful, with big-juicy clams encrusted with salty bacon and crunchy breadcrumbs. The shrimp and grits had a large portion of flavorful, sauted spinach as its base, with smallish shrimp but a deep, flavorful sauce and a crispy grit cake. The short rib pappardelle was a little muddy, but the pasta was cooked perfectly. It just needed a vegetable to point it up.Pumpkin bread pudding was moist and the interplay of chocolate chips and pumpkin custard was delicious. bighungryshelby.com
