This place gets Breakfast right! From the fresh Homemade Pop-Tarts the Breakfast Burrito. Ive never eaten anything other than breakfast here but the food really good. its convenient that they have so many outlets around the DC/VA area so can actually get to it in every area. The restaurant it self is very bright with the color yellow booth. Staff is friendly and they ensure you have a great meal/experience.

Way over priced for the flavorless meal. So bad we sent soup back (how hard is it to screw up soup?) and the pasta that arrived looked like chef boyardee!!!! Had benches. Even their beer was bad. Just terrible and unimaginative.

Nice place for a late lunch/early dinner. We arrived just before 4pm and were offered both the Breakfast and Lunch menus which was a pleasant surprise. The menus are both rather extensive and it took several minutes to review all the options. Ultimately 3 of us opted for salads and 1 opted for the Sloppiest Joe. One of our party also ordered the Apple Pop Tart which arrived almost immediately. It was reported to be quite good – very unlike the toaster variety. I opted for the Ty Cobb salad with bacon ranch dressing. The presentation was impressive and the salad was quite large. Unlike some salads, the presentation, on a plate, consisted of layers of ingredients spread across the plate instead of stacked on top of each other. The fried chicken on the Ty Cobb was fresh from the fryer and consisted of 3 large tenderloins. The prices, even at lunch, are a bit high but the location is pricey. Given the size of the salad, the price wasn’t exorbitant and I ended up with a small snack for later in the evening. Overall the restaurant is a nice mix of old-world charm with modern and re-constructed foods.

Ted’s Bulletin. Ate here while visiting Reston,Va. Service very good. Had meatloaf and onion rings. Excellent! All the food looked good, especially breakfast. I was too full to try a homemade poptart, though.

Still Working Out the Kinks. I really like Ted’s and have eaten at the Capital Hill location many times. The new location in Reston is about three times bigger than the original location with lots of counter seats. While the restaurant space is nice and service prompt, they seem to still be working out issues with the food quality. I’ve tried it on three occasions over two weeks and have yet to have a great experience. My meatloaf and country fried steak were both overcooked to the point of almost being burnt. I love the brussel sprouts downtown covered in blue cheese and bacon and have tried them in Reston twice now. Both times they were swimming in grease with very little bacon and blue cheese. The creamed corn and mashed potatoes were edible but not great. The adult milk shakes me and my friends had were all delicious but not very adult. Downtown they usually have a decent amount of booze in them but these had almost none.I will definitely be back but I will wait awhile for them to work on some of the issues.
