The wine selection is pretty good for a small tasting room, but the service is absolutely terrible. I’ve tried a few times to enjoy my experience there, but being ignored by unprofessional wait staff is enough to turn me off from this place for good.
Not Satisfied. Quite frankly, I think the Boxwood Tasting Room to be too small for an independant operation like that. They should really just a part of a larger restaurant with a wine bar.Furthermore their selection of foods is not very wide spread, their staff is very unprofessional and untrained (too much turnover could be the root cause of this!!!!!!!!!!). Lastly many of the wines I tasted seemed very stale and the goat cheese I tried was certainly stale. Furthermore I really suggest the ownership/management need to take a good look at their business model and consider some major revisions and also consider another location. Their are plenty of other upscale restaurants in Reston Town Center that will certainly run them out of business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And one more think I would like to add about the staff. They seemed very cold and unfriendly on top of their unprofessionalism. Also how can you have a music festival in a room the size of a closet???
Suprising. I am not a big Virginia wine fan yet, this place changed my mind. Beautiful wines from Virginia and France on both sides of the aisle,(whites and reds). The thing that struck me was how fresh all of the wines tasted.Had I been a fan of the grape or not. As a plus we had some of the best Live Jazz provided by Mykle Lyons on Acoustic Bass and a Vibraphonist named Charles Bubeck. (Sadly, they are only there on Thursdays). For your money this is the spot. Great and knowledgeable staff and patrons. No smoke or television.I miss Provence.
What a JERK!!. Totally unfriendly short haired male working today (may be owner). wanted 2 glasses of red wine and the jerk tries to get me to purchase some card with credits on it. I was in this place a couple weeks ago and a nice young lady just poured me two glasses that i liked with no issue. i just walked out and told him to kiss my —. i’m sorry but don’t like that Boxwood crap. I should be able to purchase a glass without any crap. NEED TO CHANGE YOUR COMPLICATED PROCESS – THEIR LOSS!!!!
I agree with everyting Jarret has said and I wan’t to commend the Middleburg location for anyone visiting Virginia horse country. The enomatic machines at both are agreat opportunity to try some of the best Virgina made wines as well as several French wines from the same enologist Stephan Derencourt.
Great Idea and Great Wine. This new gem of Reston Town Center is quite the little find. From local wines priced around $20 to world renowned small batch wines in excess of $100 you get the opportunity to try them all at 1, 3 and 5 ounce pours. State of the art dispensing system and prompt staff make the experience a self serve at your own pace or the friendly wait staff is there to fill your glass. Located directly in the Town Center, the outdoor seating is comfy and makes people watching entertaining. The ability to purchase bottles directly from the Tasting Room at a $10 discount per bottle (no corking fee) is an added bonus.
Great atmosphere, great wine and location.
