Great food, good service.
Way over priced. The outside list of specials did not include the prices and the waitress did not volunteer them. Our mistake. We ordered two specials as well as a calamari appetizer, a half carafe of house Chianti, two special entrees, and then split a dessert. The calamari was OK. The wine was fine. The dessert was good but nothing special. The salmon entree was not good; it lacked taste and had way too much sauce. The Veal special was better but again was swimming in the same sauce. Our total tab (including Richmond sales tax) was $96.96!! We could have eaten at a really good Italian restaurant for much less. We have had dinner at Can Can for much less. This place is a rip off. The food is average to bad. The prices are way too high.Oh, and by the way: the owner, when challenged about the quality and pricing, accused us of trying to get a meal for free.
The marinara sauce is salty so the pastas are not excellent. Somehow the pizzas come out great so possibly the sauce is different.
I had heard many good things about Frank’s and man were we disappointed. Sauce tasted like bland jar sauce on the spaghetti and baked ziti. BF ordered Tiramisu hoping to end the night on a good note. The bottom of is was soaking wet but not in the yummy way it should. More like water as there was no coffee flavor to it. Very disappointing.
Always Fresh. This is one of our favorite little places in Richmond. I have tried many menu items and so has my husband. If they have the sea bass as a special I highly suggest you try it. it is out of this world. Everything tastes like it as fresh as it can be and the pasta dishes are delicious as well. The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable. I always look forward to going there!
Terrible Food, Worse Service. We were hesitant to goto Franks Ristorante & Pizzeria after reading the previous reviews but they were exactly right.Terrible service, worse food and when we complained we were told by the manager that we should have sent the food back. We would have sent the food back if the server checked on us after our food was brought to usWay over priced, very slow and exceptionally rude. There are way better Italian options in Richmond than Franks. The best part about the night was when we were leaving.
I am not sure what others are talking about, but this place wast outstanding! 1st time in and the food and service were great! The spinach ravioli and lobster and crab ravioli with provinsol sauce was one of the best Italian meals I’ve eaten outside of what my wifes Italian grandmother makes us when we go to Philly to visit.
