Nice Brunch. At first there was disappointment… We were here at 2:00pm and I was jonesing for some oysters. But they don’t have oysters on Sunday. That was odd at a restaurant known for its raw bar. What they did have was a mix your own Bloody Mary bar… which went a long way toward making everything all right! The menu has some good things on it but I chose the special… Crab Hash. It was great. A bed of potatoes covered with a fried egg then a crab cake and dollop of Hollandaise. It wasn’t really crab hash in that the crab and the potatoes were separated by the egg… but I won’t pick nits… it was delicious! My wife and son had Crab Benedict… the muffin replaced with croissant and a layer of crab under the perfectly poached eggs topped with a spot on Hollandaise. Perfectly executed! My sister-in-law liked her waffle. The down note comes from my nephew’s Shrimp and Grits. The flavors were great, the shrimp were perfect… but the grits were grossly undercooked! Service was friendly and timely… they have a great beer selection…. I’ll let the grits slide because I like this place.
