Disappointing. Ribs were tender and well-smoked, but the dry rub contains absolutely no salt and really no other flavors, either. Regular pulled pork BBQ is swimming in an overly sweet sauce, completely masking any meat flavors. Baked beans were VanCamps straight out of the can. The potato salad, while seemingly homemade, had absolutely no seasoning and again, no salt. If you’re in the area, Hank’s Smokehouse is somewhat better and BBQ Exchange is superior.
Meat tender, fresh but sauces and sides are tasteless and boring. Wouldn’t recommend if your really hungry for some good bbq
Went here on a whim first night up at Massanutten. Service was excellent but the food was Chef Boyardee level. I’m in the navy and have lived all across the country and their sausage dinner tasted like a hot dog with BBQ sauce on it. Their pulled pork was decent but the potato salad left much to be desired. Don’t think we’re heading back there anytime soon…
Best BBQ place we went to while staying in Massanutten. My favorite was mixing the Carolina pork with the regular BBQ pork!! It was great!! fried pickles and hush puppies were excellent, too!! And the homemade ice cream. Will miss this place when we head back home…
Great food. Not sure what that skip dodsons problem is(he must work for restaurant down the road) i thought the bbq was great as well as sides, reasonable pricing and friendly people. will go back next time in the area
Great barbeque. Both the sweet and the Carolina. Fast and very friendly service. Great value. Homemade ice cream and pie for dessert. The perfect choice after a hike on the appalachin trail.
Won’t Be Back. Hard to understand why so many people like this place. The food is mediocre, at best, served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The menu says side dishes are prepared fresh daily on the premesis. The waitress admitted they weren’t, and they didn’t taste as if they were, although the cold slaw was good.
