What a great New Years fixed menu… the prosciutto wrapped Chilean Sea Bass was incredible and my wife’s Filet was amazing…if you get a chance to try the Apple Pie and Bread Pudding was incredible!!!
They put a rubber band in my salad! Here I was enjoying my overpriced salad at this always overpriced dimly lit joint when I found something chewy I’m my salad. I reached in to my mouth and pulled out a rubber band! Forget the toxicity of rubber, I still paid full price for my meal. If you are looking for food that is whatever at astonishing prices ( one menu item is $83), then try Bookbinders!
Really enjoyed a pepper-crusted sirloin that was perfectly prepared! Spinach salad was super. Asparagus was flavorful. Appetizer trays were bountiful. Bring your big wallet.
World’s best crab cakes!. I am not kidding. They are the world’s best crab cakes. But that’s not all. They really know how to cook a steak here too. And the service is impeccable. We went there this past weekend for my birthday and I would not have picked another restaurant for the occasion. It really is that good! This was our second visit there but they may want to get used to us because we will definitely be back. And do yourself a favor and order the cream corn. It doesn’t sound like something most people would order but it was out of this world!!
Good, but not perfect. Strong food, especially when sticking to the chop house basics like crab cakes, steaks, etc. Things can begin to go off the rails when the kitchen wants to be more creative. While one applauds them for trying to stretch their wings, it really would be better for them to stick with what they know–classic seafood and chop house fare. Environment is nice and classy without being overbearing and stuffy. It is never too noisy. Service can be a little uneven and unpolished for this price point. You would expect a little more personal touch and polished professionalism for these prices. Prices are what you would expect at the Philly original, not provincial Richmond. Overall, if you stick with the classics on the menu, you will leave satisfied.
Underwhelmed. I have been here twice before tonight, once for a lobster special that was excellent and reasonable and once we had a bottle of wine and 2 seafood salads and ate outside and it was perfect. Love the atmosphere plus you would never know there was a recession, packed full on a wet wed night ! Downhill all the way after a yummy lump crabmeat cocktail. Service was fine, just the food was in no way matched to the price, especially considering you have to pay extra for side dishes. It also seemed to take a very long time for main courses, waitress apologized so not sure what happened there.
A wonderful atmosphere with excellent food. I found the negative reviews funny, as most of them mentioned certain dishes were wonderful. The price is comparable with the food quality. If you are looking for abundant inexpensive food, go to a Sheetz. If you want to experience excellent food and service, you’ll find it here. Comparable to other area upscale restaurants (Copper Grill, Hondos, Ruth Chris, Motons), but less pretentious and less expensive. It is worth a visit and we plan to return.
