First time…. Finally made it to Poe’s after living in RVA for close to 20 years… I had the oyster po-boy, and it was good. Bread was a little big. I dug the garlic sauce, and the fries were good, although a little salty. Service was good, and had a fat tire w/ the meal…
Slow service overcooked dried out burgers. Nothing special.
Looks Can Be Deceiving …. You could say it looks like a dive, but better yet, dive into their menu for some gooooood eatin.’ I’ve enjoyed the Catfish Bites, Hamburger (good size and cooked really well) and Fried Oysters. When the Soft Shell Crabs are in season, they are delish and cooked the way they should be. Service has also been very friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this place and have never had a bad meal there.
Jewel of a place… Best Crab omelet I’ve found anywhere, hands down!!!! Can’t wait to try more of their menu items!
Ribs and catfish are great also love the pulled pork and coleslaw sandwich! Great food and VERY reasonably priced – for both food and drink! Love it!
Saw Seven Nations here. Great venue, great service and amazing food. You must get the ribs. Also the soup de jour was tomato basil blue cheese… so good
The ribs are great-exceptional really- everyday. The Sunday brunch menu is superb. Steak and eggs are tough to beat.
