DRY MEAT! GROSS SIDES. I had the BBQ with slaw and tasted some of my husbands ribs and was completely dissatisfied.. The meat was not only chewy and hard to swallow, it was lukewarm. The slaw tasted funny And had some kinda peppers in it???? We ended up leaving and going thru a drive in fast food place! Complete waste of time and money!! Never again!
THE WINGS. Oh my goodness I went in and first I was totally excited about sitting at the bar which is a firetruck and under the glass at the bar is a fire hose which was pretty neat.! I ordered a glass of wine and they gave me a huge glass and filled it up – Awesome ! 🙂 the best part was the wings I ordered which was based in their FULLY DEVELOPED HOUSE SAUCE and oh my it tasted amazing! I work at a hotel in walking distance so Ive been reccomending this place raving about the wings! I will return soon myself!
I like this place. Way better than q but they do have a lot of inconsistancy. It seems like every time I go the food is prepared different. And sometimes not for the better. And whatever you do, do not get a sweet tea to drink it is terrible. On the whole though the BBQ is good
Close to closing time. I decided to check it out, walking distance to my new place looked good figured why not. The bar tender tonight was nice, he did everything correctly. However this obnoxious guy kept coming over to our table, and sitting at it with us asking us weird questions. The guy was walking all over the place including outside. We decided to leave once the guy came in from outside and yelled you both still here? At us, we ended up leaving. Did not feel welcomed. If thatbguybhadnt have been so rude, then I might have given the place a 100%. The frys are awesome, and so was the pulled pork sandwich.
Food, Atmosphere, and service you can’t get any better!! My wife were traveling to Richmond on a business trip when I stumbled upon this quaint little bar in the downtown area. It boasted a sign stating best BBQ in Richmond and had a top ten review posted on the door to prove it. When I walked into the restaurant I was taken aback. There was a functioning Fire Truck on the wall!! It was full of, what seemed to be regulars, having the time of there lives. My wife and I were immediately greeted by the bartender Stephanie who offered us drinks while we waited for an available seat. After being sat my wife decided to have the ribs and I had the pulled pork. They were not joking! It was the best I’ve had. As the evening came to a close we heard tales of another location not far away that was larger and had the entire truck inside. So we headed to the west end to check it out. It was not easy to find because the address did not register on our GPS but after our experience it was worth the investigation. When we walked into this location we were awe strucken. This place is huge. We were greeted by the hostess and immediately sat. After having the BBQ we decided to see if they where a one trick pony. I decided on the prime rib and my wife the fish and chips. Both amazing!! Our server, Shannon, was very pleasant and accommodating. She recommended the peanut butter pie for dessert and it was fabulous too. My question is do these people do anything wrong? I am a fan and will defiantly be back !!
Only my fair and balanced opinion, lol. Walked in on a rainy, cold day- smelled awesome, you know that really good BBQ smoky aromaOrderd the Dalmatians (mini-corndogs) with brown mustard. Corndogs were fine, mustard fairly generic. Ordered the pork BBQ platter with mac and cheese, slaw, came with cornbread. BBQ was juicy, tasty, and not too much sauce. Sauce was a very good vinegar based sauce. Sides, um, what is up with those…..mac and cheese consisted of noodles with a jalapeno (or some other spicy pepper) mixed with industrial melted cheese, glopped ontop of the noodles (i.e. not baked together) and then topped with some more cheese sprinkles. The way it was prepared made me wonder if this was an afterthought add-on to the menu.Onto the slaw, I have never seen a coleslaw recipe that had green pepper in it. Never, especially in the south where BBQ and coleslaw is a holy combo- you just don’t mess with it. My question to the owner, why- WHY? does everything have to have peppers in it?! I hope the owner will read this when I say, the beauty of the American dinner is that we mix the sweet and salty with tangy and hot- it is what makes eating pleasurable and we should slow down to savor every mouthful. I felt none of this. I ate the pork and left the sides, what a shame.Cornbread was okay, neither here or there. Not bland, but then again not exactly tasty. On the plus side, the server was a very nice and friendly young lady. They have karaoke on Monday night- could be fun. I think I’ll stick with the beer, they got that part right.-E
Pretty bad. Super loud. BBQ tasted like it was microwaved. Really dry. Best thing was BBQ sauce which you needed to lubricate your throat to get dry chicken down. Brisket had off flavor and over-cooked. Slaw was rubbery. Sorry guys I wanted to like it but I will sadly not be returning.
