Hard to review this place, as a restaurant it falls short during the day, strange atmosphere, dirty, and unattentive staff with food that tastes good, but does not stand out in any way. As a bar at night it is one of the better places to be downtown, one of the few open late sunday-wednesday, great younger crowd late night on the weekends all though it gets a little crowded.

Great food and service. First time at Cha Chas Monday night and I was pleasantly surprised. It was after 8 pm and only a few other patrons. Greeted promptly by bartender amd seated by him. Despite other bar customers arriving shortly after us, he was quick with drinks, chips and salsa. ordered vegetarian burrito and chicken quesadilla. Excellent taste and quality, and I thought much better than the usual Mexican fare. Loved the salsa, too. All in all a great dinner and enjoyable place to hang out without a big bill. Look forward to going back!

I went to Cha Cha’s last night to go dancing with my girlfriends. I was DD, so I was drinking diet coke all night, or I would have been if I could get any service. Once the bartenders knew I wasn’t drinking alcohol, they intentionally ignored me, going up to everyone else, even those who got up to the bar significantly after me. I would have been ignored all night if it wasn’t for a guy they went to serve who pointed out they were ignoring me. I realize bartenders generally don’t make money on non-drinkers, but I normally tip for every non-alcoholic drink as I would for a regular one, since they have to take time out to pour it. Needless to say, after that treatment, I did not tip last night. Most bars treat DD’s well, since they’re making sure people get home safe and stay out of legal trouble. It looks like the bartenders at cha cha’s would have preferred their patrons to die in a drunk driving accident.

A rowdy good time. A girlfriend and I went to Cha Cha’s last Saturday night. The servers were very sweet. We both really enjoyed the chips and salsa; so few restaurants get it right. I had the mango shrimp tacos. They were good, maybe too much mango for my taste? For $10, though, I got 3 stuffed tacos and was too full to finish the meal. If you’re looking for a quiet spot, this isn’t it. This is more akin to a dive bar, with people singing songs at the bar. Luckily, I find that charming and can’t wait to return!

Cool bar, especially if I were younger and single, but the food was average Mexican at best. Guacamole was average at best and fajita was the same. Enjoy the drinks and nice staff, just eat before…

Good Lunch Spot. Usually a quick and tasty lunch. Wait staff is friendly but sometimes spread thin. Love the chips and fresh mild salsa. My favorites are tacos on Tuesday, and pork burrito on Wednesday ($2 off days).

Great Night Out at Cha Chas. Last night, me and 12 of my best girl friends aged 40 – 50 went here for a birhday party for 4 of us. We had a groupon to use. When I looked up the address for directions I saw this page of reviews and checked the reviews out. They were horrible. I was so scared we were going to have an awful time. WE HAD A GREAT TIME! When we got there, the table was set for 13 already, we sat right down. We had great margaritas! The server Brittany was VERY concientious and great. We all ordered something different and everyone liked what they got. The Shrimp and Carnitas tacos really looked good. Personally my favorite were the chips and salsa, hot and fresh chips and fresh made salsa. Then we got the queso dip and the BACON/TOMATO/Guacamole, which was delicious. I was full before my meal came. They had a problem ringing up the bill with groupons so it took a while and they came over to apolgoze and brought everyone at the table who wanted one a free shooter (swedish fish flavored!). Seriously, this was a great night. It was super cheap because of the groupon but even with out the groupon their prices are excellent. Most entrees are 7 – 10 bucks. The crowd was quiet. There were about 10 people at the bar and then us 13 in the restaurant and then about 4 – 5 other tables where people were coming and going all night. It was a saturday night at 7 pm. You should go and try this. They apparently have a new chef as of 3 months ago. GO!
