The food here is Awesome! Mine as well as others around me had great presentation. My server Elizabeth did a great job! Great food, atmosphere, and service!
Great food. Was cold inside but the wait staff turned off the AC which helped. Not a place for good conversation as the noise level was quite loud. Seems the noise was tied to the beer consumption. Food is unique and tasty. Will come back earlier before the drinking scene starts. It is a Brewery though!
Such an awesome find, crab cakes dinner is my favorite! Beer selection is good, they have a lot of beers on tap as well as bottled . The service is awesome!
Wharf Hill does a nice job. The food is pretty good and the menu is creative. I had a delicioussoup and sandwich. The service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is phenomenal! Reclaimed wood everywhere you look. An awesome Tavern and Bar area, and they brew their own beer and by far have the best selection for other micros from all over. This is a great place. Check it out.
I loved the antique, down home interior of Wharf Hill. Their beer selection was great, but they only had one of their own beers on draft which was the Isle of Wheat. It was a very refreshing summer style beer served with a lemon, and I enjoyed it much more than your standard blue moon…it was more similar to Bells Oberon. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food which included the crab balls (must try), hummus, burger (actually cooked to temperature!), blackened catfish, tuna, and pot pie. Our server was a bit overwhelmed, and luckily another server came to our rescue to get us beer refills and bacon for my burger. I think in the future I would prefer to eat in the bar area where I can interact with the bartenders and learn more about their beer.
Went with friends had the catfish it was delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Tried several brews enjoyed them all. Will definitely go back.
Best new dining to hit Smithfield. I’ve been waiting for a restaurant/brewery like this for Smithfield! It is classy, awesome, homey, welcoming, and all around incredible. Blows all the other dining in Smithfield away. The food & beer are incredible ( I’ll get back to that.) The atmosphere is so worthy of the small town Smithfield feel…and it should be, as it pays tribute to the history of Smithfield at every turn. I encourage you to go to the website & read about this restaurant before dining there; you’ll be amazed. You feel you are a part if the history just walking TO the front door. Once inside, you are in another place & time . Rich with historical local items & a welcoming atmosphere, you will want to look around constantly. I’ve dined there 3 times (within a month!) and I’m giddy each time. Now for the food. Absolutely delicious! AND it’s not pricey. My family has had the blackened salmon, fries, cheeseburger, deep fried crab balls, hummus & naan, crab cakes , fried green tomatoes, po-boy fried shrimp sandwich, remoulade sauce(incredible!), oysters, ….and my all time favorite…hand-breaded onion rings! They are, like none other. I can’t begin to explain how awesome these are, especially with the remoulade sauce. The kicker is the pecan-chocolate chip pie with a spoon of whip cream on top…decadent!!! The brewery & beer are my husband’s favorite. Always a great selection on tap, but the microbrew is amazing! Authentic , rich with flavor, and wonderfully complements the food served. Whether you just want to dine, just want a to have a tasty beer, or both, Wharf Hill Brewing Company is THE place you want to go. ( It’s the best kept secret in Smithfield.)
