Awesome!!!. This place reminds me of the Caribbean, from the bright colors to the tropical tunes. The specials are the best around town, from kids eat free, $1 draft specials, $5 lunch specials, 1#crab legs $10.99 they go on for days… They have different specials everyday. The food was outstanding as well, everything is freshly prepared to order and the portions are generous. This is a place not to miss out on. Oh Don’t forget the homemade desserts make sure to try the bread pudding it is to die for!!!

Steamers, What Happened?. This place used to be the bomb (ref my last review), but it took a nose dive in the last three or four months. The once charmingly casual service is now just frustrating (forgetting salads, long wait for apps, running out of crab legs, and so forth). The food took a hit, too. Since we’ve been coming here for years, we thought this might be a fluke but the last three times, it hasn’t improved. Steak not cooked right, overcooked fries, and they put the seasoning on the shrimp after it was steamed – totally a rookie move. That’s just what I can remember. Sorry, Steamers, it’s been fun but it’s time I moved on.07 May, 2011Great Seafood. Being the only real crab shack in Fredericksburg, I’m surprised that this place doesn’t generate more buzz. There’s no better place to roll up your sleeves, have a few drinks, and dig into a pile of crabs and shrimp. The inside is pretty much your standard seafood shack decor, with huge wall murals, and novelties hung all over the walls and ceiling completing the beach or nautical theme. But it’s also very clean and maintained. The menu is made up of combinations of crab, shrimp, and steak – all of which are very well made. My go-to is the plate of steamed shrimp and crab legs (enormous) with a side of hush puppies. In the last 8 years of eating here, have I never not enjoyed my meal/pile. The service can be sketchy at times, though. While the waitresses are all smoking hot in their short shorts, they’re sometimes a little flaky. One time, the hostess was nowhere to be found, so we had to seat ourselves. Another time, the waitress dumped the cocktail sauce on me (partly my fault, I admit), and this last time the waitress just kind of forgot about us. But, hey, this isn’t exactly Ruth’s Chris, and the food is great. Let loose and grab some dinner or come out late for the karaoke. Either way, I think you’ll be pleased.
