Church activities director. I brought 16 people to Amici’s during restaurant week, and everyone loved it. Yes, the service was slow, but there were a lot of us. Everyone left very happy with our choice of Amici’s during Restaurant Week and very happy with their food choices. I am certain that quite a few will return. I will!
Great place! Great pizza, Greek salad, and bread sticks.
If I want to be ignored, I’ll stay home. Unfortunately, I think I frequented Amici’s for the last time last night. I’ve been going there for years, but I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of the food and the service in the last year. Our waitress took our order and then promptly disappeared until it came time to deliver the bill. She had to walk by our table several times but never once looked at us or asked if we needed drink refills, etc. Another waitress delivered the food. Although the caesar salad and antipasto salad were definitely good, the manicotti and pepperoni pizza were mediocre and not worth the price. The marinara sauce tasted canned. If I want mediocre food and to be ignored, I’ll stay home. At least I can get my own refills.
Not Consistent. When we first learned about this place and tried the pizza, we were hooked. However, a few months later we noticed that sometimes the pizza wasn’t so great. They started undercooking it and sometimes it would have too much sauce or too little sauce. The breadsticks were the same way- too much butter/oil/garlic or hardly anything at all. We stopped ordering from there because of this. I didn’t like paying money and not being able to count on a quality meal.
Lost my business. My wife had made a reservation for a birthday party a week in advance for 7-15-12 @ 1:00 pm. When we arrived 15 mins to 1:00 we were told by the hostess that rush of people just arrived and we would be seated shortly after 1:00. Having been reoccurring patrons to Amicis we were well are that it would be much longer than that seeing the larger tables had not even ordered their food. The most frustrating and disappointing fact was our table was not reserved to avoid this situation and being given every excuse of why that did not happen. We had a party of 10, with guests coming from all over Hampton Roads. This event has left us and many others with a negative outlook on Amicis.Dr. John
The only reason why I like amici’s is the food. My husband and I almost always order our food to go since the wait staff is either wonderful or downright rude depending on the night you get. If they changed around their staff a bit and got someone to answer the phone that does not hang up on you mid-order, then we would need a frequent diner’s card for this place.
No more Sunday Brunch. Very disappointed!
