Suprising Steaks. I’ve been to George’s before- several years ago I went with a bunch of co-workers who raved about the cheesesteaks (which I have yet to try). My chicken wrap was pretty good and reasonably-priced. However, the atmosphere is what kept me from going back for dinner every time my husband and I would go through the measley list of decent restaurants in Suffolk (and the smaller list of non-chains). A couple weeks ago, we finally decided on George’s to go give their steaks a try. All I can say is ‘Wow’. Their steaks were delicious. I had the prime rib and my husband had the medium Delmonico. The prime rib came juicy, cooked perfectly, and huge (even though it was supposed to be 8-9oz). The Delmonico had just the right spices or rub and, again, cooked perfectly. We had an appetizer, a beer, a few sodas, the steaks and sides, and even took dessert home and it was about $60. Though the atmosphere was as I remembered- old fashioned, wood paneling, not very romantic or pretty or special- the food was unbelievably good enough to make you forget that part. The place was packed at 6pm on a Saturday, but the wait wasn’t long at the time. They were down a few servers, but you could never tell- the service was phenomenal considering this problem. All in all, considering price and the food, this is worth a go. Keep your expectations as to decor to a minimum and focus on the food and service and you’ll be very pleased.

Comfort Steak. Nothing spectacular, just a good, solid Greek steakhouse. The fries are insane, they’re soooo good, thin, crispy, and flavorful. This is NOT Ruth’s Chris or Shula’s, but you won’t go away hungry. Lotsa bang for the buck here.
Love it!. I grew up going to several similar Steakhouses in Virginia Beach and I can tell you that by far, George’s is the best around. The food is always wonderfully prepared; the service always very friendly and prompt; and everything is as a dining experience should be. And you can’t beat their fries after they’ve soaked up all that yummy steak juice…ummm! And the best part? Great food and service at a very reasonable price. Keep doing what you’re doing George’s – it’s working for ya!
Always smells wonderful outside. My parents always like to go there when they come to town. The last time I was there, I had the marinated steak and it was so tender and delicious. Maybe, a bit too salty, but I still liked it a lot. Also, they always seem to be busy at night when you drive by. My daughter used to work at Rite Aid next door and the smells wafting across the parking lot always made me hungry.
The Best!. George’s has been in Suffolk for the last 30 years, my parents took me there as a child now am taken my kids. They have the best steaks and seafood also nightly specials. The staff is amazeing and since they remodeled it’s made the dinein experience more modern. This is one of Suffolks best kept secrets.
