Fabulous dinner, great place!!!. We ate at the Pearl Raw Bar on the night of 8/23/2014 and had a wonderful time, The appetizers were great (Buffalo Chicken Oysters, Jalapeno Hushpuppies, and Calamari). I ordered the Blackened Mahi for my entre and it was awesome. We sat in the back of the restaurant and they raised the garage doors, and it was so cool sitting in there with great friends enjoying a meal on a rainy summer evening. Our waitress was the best, ask for Tess (aka Tex) if you go. If you have not been, I recommend you put this on your list for must try restaurants in RVA.
Hot thangs. Best eclectic varietals of hot thangs in town…. Pretty good food too!! But d southern bells… I meannnn I meannnnnnn!
Crab legs & oysters. Pearls has the best steamed oysters & crab legs in the city of Richmond. the waitress was fantastic. I will go there again
Great happy hour menu. Went on Tuesday for crab leg night, average seafood compared to other restaurants doing same theme. But service was fast and friendly. Place has modern sparse shanty seafood restaurant decor.
Good for a cocktail after work. Food not so great. Very bland.
Lost Potential. I am probably bias. I thought de Lux was a great spot. The layout of the former restaurant was more inviting and open. Pearl is simply a row of booths against one wall with a bar on the other – nothing new. I’m a raw bar fan and this place simply falls short. I had the Oysters Rockefeller, and the spinach was limp, lifeless and had no taste. For my main course I had the Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese, which was good, but not at its $19 price point. Mind you, service was prompt and thoughtful – our waitress made a wonderful suggestion for wine pairing.
Richmond really needed this!. Richmond was very much in need of a raw bar, and Pearl the best I have found in quite a while. I will say that the Oysters Rockefeller were out of this world. They are the best I think I have ever had. The crab cake BLTs were delicious as well. The menu here is extensive so and everything looked amazing. The staff is friendly and I the decor is sort of rustic and inviting. I think we will be going back here again next week for brunch. Definitely give this place a try. You will not be disappointed!
