EX-CUSTOMERS. Was with a girlfriend and ordered some wine and a cheese platter. We wanted a table but was told tables were just for diners and we had to sit at the bar. During the entire hour and a half we were there not a soul came in and every table remained empty. Rude and arrogant staff
Disappointed and dismayed. The past three times I have visited Secco, I have been left disappointed. Primarily, do to the pretentious and quite rude staff. If customer service is not your forte, then the food and drink service industry should not be the career you pursue. I feel I have finally decided to give up on Secco as an option on a night out.
Had the 5 course tasting. Salt cod croquettes were some of the best I have had. Great staff and great wine selection at a reasonable price.
Love Me Some Secco. Mind you, I’ve only been here a handful of times, but each time I have been I have been impressed by the food, service and wine selection. I’m especially happy with Secco’s Summer of Riesling ‘happy hour’ promotion. Can’t beat a glass for $5. The location is wonderful and offers great views of Cary Street – great for those who like to street watch. The vibe is upscale and eclectic with various options for seating. I do wish, however, that some of the food selections were more filling and simple. I realize that this is a wine bar and there’s a certain expectation food-wise, but would prefer some more basic savory dishes. Other than that, this is a great spot for meeting friends and hanging out.
Customer Service Not To Be Savored At Secco. Out and about to enjoy a nice glass ‘o, and celebrate a break in the rain, we ducked into Secco for a little treat. The bar was full; there were a number of empty tables. My partner and I like to sit side by side, rather than across from each other, as he suffers from a congenital hearing issue and wears hearing aides. We were immediately asked to not sit next to each other in this manner. I explained the situation to the waitress (trying not to embarrass my date), and pointed out that there were plenty of the small vertical tables. However, she rather loudly and emphatically pursued the issue. The vertical tables were meant for parties to sit across and not next to each other. My goodness! I certainly hope the point was worth the loss of our business both last evening and in the future … and not to mention the shocking lack of care toward someone with a physical handicap. Interesting way to do business.
This place has a great atmosphere to try something new. If you are a wine and cheese lover, this is a place to check out.
Liked it but then the staff person went off at me for using the restroom I understood that it wasn’t allowed without permission (didn’t know before I used it) but they could have just said politely please……. So that sorta ruined it09 Mar, 2012Looks cool but manager or owner or staff got mad at me for not asking to use the restroom
