The feel of the place fits the neighborhood nicely, quaint and intimate. Though the menu looked interesting, we opted for the salad tub, which is better than it sounds. The selections were varied from the usual leafy greens to edamame hummus, which was quite nice. It was satisfying at a very reasonable price. Did try a crab cake on the side since it was touted as famous in the menu. Grossly overrated. Our toddling grandchildren were treated very well. All in all, we’d like to go back if in the area again.

Overrated, but not bad. I’ve never been especially impressed here, but maybe the fawning reviews I’ve heard previously set the expectations too high. It’s a bit pricey, and relatively fancy atmosphere. This is a place your doting aunt loves, and that you will love if you are a doting aunt.

Great Value. Not the best restaurant that I’ve been to but for the price, it was an excellent value. The crabcakes had a little more filler than I like but the creamy crab soup was very good and the jambalaya pasta was excellent. Kudos for serving Virginia Wine, the Barboursville Cab France was an excellent value.

One of the Best Brunches in the City. I have been there with my girlfriend a couple times for brunch, so I will comment on the general experience…The breakfast there is not extravagant, but out of everything we have had there (poached eggs with hollandaise, french toast, omlettes, biscuits and gravy, quiche…) everything was flavorful and filling. I am not a fan overly sweet breakfasts, nor of frilly platings that offer very little for the stomach. While the food there did not sit on you like a ton of bricks, it did the job. In my opinion, they executed the basics of the American/Continental breakfast to a T without pandering to grease junkies; they nailed everything. The plating I would say is modest (yet professional), as the focus is on the food which is fine with me. The service is always great. Oddly enough, we have had the same guy every time we went there. It can be very busy there, yet the atmosphere is never cluttered or obtrusive. It is extremely family friendly. If you are in the fan and are looking for breakfast, Strawberry Street is the place to go.

Consistent. If this place is anything, it is consistent. Consistent good food, consistent good service and constantly busy. Best salad/soup tub around- literally

Great food, but it will be noisy!. I don’t think I’ve ever had even an iffy meal here in the five years I lived in Richmond. They always have interesting quiches and dishes to order. I loved going here for breakfast. My only complaint is that with all the wood and virtually no fabric in the place, it is very noisy even when it is only a little full. Come for good food, don’t expect to get important talking done with the volume.

Steady but Stale. Another Richmond-staple with a steady but stale menu. I feel that not much changes here and am always looking for something to keep me coming back and seem to rely on the salad bar for that – and no, I don’t care that it’s in a bathtub.Safe place to take your grandparents when they come to town for a visit.
