AMAZING! You must go!

100% delicious! Just go with it and enjoy.
Simple perfection. I walked into this unassuming store-front on Cary and was warmly greeted by Lauren, the co-owner and co-chef. She was excited to go over her menu, share her passion and make recommendations. I’m always impressed by a limited menu, it says to me – we do few things, but extremely well – and this place delivers on this premise. Thankfully the taste is matched by the awesomeness of the owners – one of the best sandwiches in Richmond, hands-down. Do yourself a favor and get a Banh mi today.
Best Sandwich in Richmond. Absolutely delicious ! This unassuming building in the 2100 block of Cary St houses some of the most flavorful food in Richmond. The owners, Lauren and Greg are both classically trained chefs who have put their heart and soul into their food. Freshness and flavor abound and it is evident that everything is home made. The Banh Mi sandwich was a variation of the classic pork belly. They chose to substitute pork tenderloin for a less fatty taste. Grilled to perfection and served on a fresh and crunchy baguette, the pickled carrots and daikon added another level of taste and texture while the generous portion of thinly sliced jalapeo provided just the right about of heat. Cilantro enhanced the flavor and color while a roasted garlic aioli added a level of creaminess to the sandwich. The sandwich came with a simple salad of baby greens, paired with pickled red onions and cucumbers. The dressing was a light and delicious vinaigrette. The menu is limited to about 8 items currently, some sandwiches, salads and home made soups, along with bread pudding for dessert. It is take out only with no dining in but there is one picnic table available in front of the shop.
Wanted to try something new and I came across this place in the Internet and saw that they had a banh mi. I see this sandwich all the time and I jumped on it to give it a try… OMG… My first time having pork belly and it was just fatty goodness, with the pickled veggies, garlic aoli, jalepeno on the baguette ( which was the right texture… Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside)…. Let’s just say I was gonna eat half now and the other half later…. Mission not accomplished… In a good way 🙂
