Burger with a side of el clasico. Lovely venue at the Tysons corner shopping centre, good service, the food is well priced and expertly done. The Kobe beef burger was a steal for such quality at $13, the garlic fries were a pleasure with all the fresh garlic.Only sour note: watching el clasico soccer game on the multiple TVs with Katy Perry as background music because venue policy prevents any TV audio. The best way to kill the mood…
Decent chain restaurant. We had a large party and the restaurant was able to secure a table for 10 in the centre of the main dining room. Granted, the restaurant wasn’t busy on a Monday evening but a 10-top table is no small feat for any establishment. We even made the mistake of reserving this twice and the staff was very accommodating for our error. As we arrive at different times, we were one of the last to be seated. Fortunately, one of the waiters attending to our table (there were 2 assigned to us) arrived shortly thereafter to take orders for dinner and drinks. I ordered a pint of the Hefeweizen, a large glass of water and the Spicy Shrimp & Chicken Pasta. After we placed our order, another 2 people arrived in our party and their order was taken almost immediately after they were seated – a nice touch. Unfortunately, with the team waiter system, the last party to arrive received their drinks before I received mine even though I’d ordered 5 minutes earlier. The Hefeweizen was excellent with a light, citrus flavor. Once drinks arrived, entrees arrived almost immediately thereafter. Several diners ordered burgers and given the raves, they were excellent. The Pasta was good and while the presentation was lack-luster, the portion size was deceptively large. It didn’t fill the service bowl but there was enough to take home. I requested the leftovers be boxed up but that didn’t happen and I didn’t realize it until after leaving the restaurant. Several of us ordered dessert – I ordered the full portion of the Warm Apple Bread Pudding. It was excellent but quite large – in retrospect, the mini-portions that are offered would have been a better choice. All told – the restaurant is decent especially for a chain. The caveats are that the restaurant is LOUD and service is a bit sporadic. I’ll be back to try the burgers and the mini-desserts.
Great service. Just had lunch here on a short mall trip, the food was outstanding, the server was very knowledgable about beer..attentive and polite…overall great dining experience.
Take a break from shopping in the mall and enjoy great beer and a wonderful burger here.
The waiter we had was pretty terrible. The other waitress in our section seemed on top of things with her tables. The food was definitely lacking considering the price we paid. I ordered the lobster/shrimp Mac n cheese. It seemed like they threw the lobster and shrimp on some bow tie pasta with an Alfredo sauce. My husband ordered the steak frites and it was a Measley portion of strips of steak literally over French fries. Even his beer wasn’t that good. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the brownie we ordered for desert. It really wasn’t worth it to eat there, and I know we won’t be back.
Run of the Mill. I went there for a working dinner so it didn’t really constitute a blog post. The first thing I have to mention is that it’s ludicrous that happy hour prices only apply to the bar area and not in the restaurant. That being said, our waiter was very accommodating and very attentive. The food is your run of the mill bar food or chain restaurant type of food. It’s tasty enough but nothing creative or memorable. We shared a few appetizer platters and I had the fish & chips. The garlic fries were a tad different and prepared well. The fish was a pretty bland sort of fish stick and I probably should have just stuck with the appetizers. foodnomad.net
Bottom Line Up Front: good, friendly, timely service and large portions of good food at prices similar to restaurants in its immediate vicinity. I visited the Gordon Biersch Brewery in Tuson’s Corner for dinner on a Friday night during March Madness 2012. The hostesses politely told me it would be a 10-15 minute wait, took my name, and gave me a paging device. About 6 minutes later, the pager went off & I was escorted to my table. My server was at my table almost immediately to take my beverage order, but after answering a few questions I had about certain dishes, took my meal order at the same time. My beverage appeared quickly thereafter. My Farmer’s Burger arrived within a very reasonable time cooked to a perfect medium, as requested. The burger was delicious and filling. I enjoyed the garlic fries, crispy on the outside and hot on the inside, but could barely eat a third of them as the burger was so large & filling. I have no idea if they even have dessert (I’m sure they do), as I called for my check after finishing my burger. At first it seemed a bit on the pricey side, but it’s in a high end mall in a high priced area. I compared it to the other restaurants in its immediate vicinity, and it was about average for the area.
