Good N.Y. style pizza but pricey. I eat a lot of 2-slices-and-a-soda pizza in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the Great Wet North, that often means pre-made crusts from Costco slathered with canned sauce, skimpy cheese and indifferent toppings. The pepperoni and white pizza slices I got from this Luciano’s were better than that. Thin crusts like New York City style, a bit of crispness to the bottom from where the counter woman threw them into the oven to warm. The sauce didn’t have quite the same garlic/oregano tang as NYC, but the pepperoni pieces had the bite I associate with Brooklyn. And they were oily — that’s one thing I associate with Big Apple ‘za. My only gripe was the price — it came to $9.94 for two pieces and a medium fountain soda. In my part of Canada, you typically pay not much more than $5 for 2+pop.

Just Ehh. Went today (2/27/2011) with family. My wife and I both got the eggplant parm panini. The bread was heavy, the sauce was bland and the eggplant was missing. Our kids had only spaghetti with butter and even this was less than acceptable with a tough pasta and water butter flavor. We have been here int he past and enjoyed a pizza, but I am not likely to return here! For their sake, I hope it was an off day or a hung over cook.

I’ll never stop going here.. If you’re looking to spend a little extra on extra yummy entrees, desserts or spiked coffee, touched off with beautiful atmosphere and great staff, then Luciano’s on 123 in Oakton is your place. I’ve yet to have a mediocre meal there: the pasta, pizza, and the antipasto make me wish my stomach was big enough to order all three each time i go. The Sherbets are like, 10 bucks, but you know what: the Sherbets are worth 10 bucks. Their menu for alcoholic coffees is amazing. I love their sunroom, completely decked out plant life across the ceiling. I love coming here to celebrate or just relax and enjoy life.
