Dulles layover.. Decided we were hungry before leaving the hotel so came to this nearby recommended spot. The menu here is like 4-5 pages so I obviously struggled deciding The menu was categorized by Thai, teriyaki, appetizers, rolls and more. Indecisive me ordered both a roll and a dish. I ordered the crispy pork and Chinese sausage plate served with rice and the soup of the day. The prices was very decent which deserves a dollar sign and a half for cost… I’ll probably go with the bento box that my boyfriend ordered next time because the amount, price, and variety were all perfect. That was also served with a soup-miso I’m not mistaken. Will likely come back because of the yummy food, restaurant vibe, and pleasant service.
I am inclined to give a 3.5 rating for this restaurant mainly because of two reasons. Their food is really tasty and the flavors ate authentic. Secondly the food comes to your table seriously quickly after your order pretty much like a fast food joint dishing out orders except this is a sit down restaurant having lunch and dinner service. The Tom Yum soup was all nailed on flavors except the sweetness which kind of downplayed the fiery spice broth that the soup is associated with. The spring rolls were fresh and came with a sweet N spice chutney and the rolls just disappeared from our tables in a jiffyThe hostess ensures that you order is well understood – we are vegetarian and don’t eat eggs too but it was all worked out well by the hostess. The Thai greeny curry was our dinner highlight. Spice, tang and the mix of greens as well as bell peppers and brinjal made for a seriously good main course accompaniment with their jasmine rice. Just the right portion and totally nailed on the flavors.Don’t expect a good decor of an upmarket sit down place….you will be disappointed by the minimalistic food court like furniture and necessaries. The bar is stocked with some local wines and an array of beers and they do have a discounted happy hour concept as well. For the taste and the ambience we felt the price to be steep however the food was quick to arrive and the flavors were viable to our palette so at the end of the day I’m not complaining.
This restaurant is near the Sheraton so we decided to try it for lunch one day. The Thai lunch buffet was quite interesting because I could sample all kinds of flavors on one plate. Main problems were they kept running out of chicken satay and they never refilled the tom kha in the big pot. Aside from those issues though, it was a good way to try everything in one meal for a price that wasn’t completely unreasonable.
Good Thai food. We have visited this restaurant 2 different times. Both times the food was very good. We really enjoyed the thai tea. At lunch there is a buffet that had many things to try. Good way to see if you like the food or not. Chicken Satay was excellent as well as the cashew chicken. Pineapple fried rice was good as well.
