Dive bar atmosphere. This is a locals bar, food was good . But nothing to write home about. Had the fish tacos. I have had better . Dark bar feeling but if you came to drink and get a bite you could do a lot worse.
This is a bar/restaurant. This is not a place to take kids unless its before happy hour starts(I even caution that in summer months). That being said, I love this place! As a local for my whole life their are only a few other place in the entire city that serve mexican foodas good as Baja Cantina. You will see people taking shots and even sometimes drinking in excess. This is a locals spot. If you are tourist sensitive go elsewhere. That being said. The food is to die for. Its fresh and literally made in front of you behind the bar. My personal favorites are the chip trio (fresh salsa is amazing) and the scallop quesadilla. Their front patio is amazing especially if you like to people watch. That’s where you might find me on any given summer night.
I had the fish tacos and nachos. Good came out quickly and the nachos were great. Fish tacos were only OK a bit too spicy. Service was good, though one of the off duty waitresses sat at the bar and complained about all her maladies the entire meal. From stories about peeing on a stick and being relieved at the result to hoping to avoid jail time. Needless to say I won’t be back. If you can endure eating during a real life soap opera then order the nachos and enjoy.
The servers are horrible but the tacos and drink specials are so worth going! I’ve just learned to sit at the bar instead of a table. Baja is the place for tacos at the oceanfront. It’s just a shame the service sucks.
Margaritas were too salty, hardly sour (mix) at all. Still could feel the alcohol though. Chimichangas were bland but the pesca comida was delish; rock fish. Busy weekend so they forgot our chip and salsa order but we had the bill adjusted so not a big deal. Oh and we did order the margarita without salt and for salt anyway. Might be nit picky but we did all for it. Loud environment(music) but friendly service.

The bacon wrapped shrimp was awesome and so were the meals and service.
