Pretty disappointing thought it be good since it was featured on TV, service was great, food was subpar and I expected more than just grease crap food.
Beach Dump. We come for steamed shrimp often. It’s been getting worse and worse. Tonight was the last time we will go there. The service was insulting . Mary dropped three shrimp on the floor and thought it was funny. She brought us three microwaved shrimp to replace it. We were the only table in there and we had to ask for water, shrimp bowls, and napkins. The wait staff was too busy talking to each other to give us good service. The shrimp tasted like rubber. I’d like to say goodbye to a place that used to be our favorite.
Best We’ve had!!!. We had to search HARD to find this little gem. Being a family of 6 on a family trip, we were looking for a budget friendly place to eat that had good food. Since this place was on Diners Drive ins and Dives i was familiar with it, but skeptical that maybe it wouldn’t live up to expecations. The wait staff were SUPER friendly and helpful. They were kind and cheerful for after 7PM on a Sunday night. As a family we had the flounder, Fried Spot, Salmon, and sides. All the fish was absolutely wonderful!. The meal plus sodas and a couple beers for one of the adults was LESS than $80. THis will be the first place we come everytime we come to town!!!
Triple D- Disgusting, Disappointing, Dirty. Saw them on Guy Fieri’s Triple D and gave them a try. Waitress was emotionless, service less, and could care less about my wife, son, and I. My son and I tried their Sunday special of ‘all you can eat flounder.’ More like a ‘can you barely stomach some flounder’ mess. My wife tried ‘their’ clam chowder and she opted to just eat only the prepackaged crackers. Tables, carpet, and surroundings all drab, dirty, and old. BIG disappointment and an awful way to end our vacation to VA Beach, Virginia.
Yucky !!!!. I must say I don’t usually take the time to write a review but in this case I thought I could save at least one person from the experience of this place. First off we sit down and no service for over 10 minutes… Serving people that came after us ??? Finally someone came while we were just about to leave … She says sorry no one told me I had a table ??? This place is pretty small ??? So we stay.. Too bad. Ordered some soup and oysters which we got … No offer for hot sauce for oysters ??? Then got a mixed platter to share. We asked for a side plate… Which we never got … Then noticed scallops were not cooked !!! Yuck !!! I was done eating at that point. Asked for manager… No manager was there we good kitchen manger .. We explained what happened he took oysters and soup from bill ??? We ate those ??? No apology at all. While waiting for manager we heard that the complaints were pretty high. Please don’t eat here !!! Waste of money crap food crap attitudes !!! So many others to go to. Please go to one of those !!! (I will just say Bubba .. Krokker.. Chix)
We found this place by accident. It’s was delicious! The crab omelet was so good!! We want to come back for dinner.
A Comfortable Place. My wife and I enjoyed lunch at the Beach Pub on Thursday (3/13/14). It didn’t start out perfect and we actually thought about leaving. We were told to sit anywhere and then were forgotten about for a bit. When the hostess realized it, we were attended to immediately. I overheard another customer order the fried rockfish sandwich. That sounded good to me and it was good, lightly fried and moist. The bread was a little thick, but that didnt deter me. I had sides of cole slaw and macaroni salad which were good accompaniments. My wife ordered the she crab soup and it was thick with big pieces of crab. The soup was, quite literally, steaming hot all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I have always liked the Pub because of local feel. Ive been many times before and will go back many more times.
