Not worth the money…. Excellent service, but disappointed with the filet mignon. Went with an aunt and uncle from out of town during winter. I thought the filet tasted either freezer burnt or as if it was in close proximity to seafood in the walk-in. It just didn’t taste right. Everything else was fine… Garlic mashed potatoes quite yummy.Decor/ambiance is certainly dated, darker… a bit cheesy and dramatic.

Nice place for a retro dinner. Found a coupon book that said this place was voted best steak in Va Beach for several years. Found a coupon for a $60 4 course dinner for 2. When I walked in thought I had time warped to the 70’s. Bad furniture and decore. The salads were small and the steaks while ok quality were broiled and tasteless. Food was not up to price. walked out with a $90 bill from over priced bottled beer. Skip this place

This is one of the best steak houses at the beach. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. My favorite is Pittsburgh style- amazing. One of the best restaurants at the beach. Customer service is top notch, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Will be back soon!
An Excellent Restaurant. This is the place to go when you crave sustenance. The Black Angus is exceptionally good for the VB oceanfront, where, in my opionion, there are many not-so-good restaurants taking advantage of the tourist trade. My experience is that the steaks and other entrees at the Black Angus are excellent, and the service is very competent, professional and friendly. For dinner last night I had the 8 oz. Angus Filet with garlic mashed potatoes, bearnaise sauce, salad, and a glass or two of Martini Cabernet wine. I was provided a steak knife, but I didn’t need it — My filet was fork tender. It was served hot, dark and almost crusty on the outside, and bright pink throughout the middle, just exactly as ordered, and with crusty dinner rolls that were obviously fresh out of the oven, almost too hot to touch at first. I devoured everything. It was all delicious. Others in our party of six were equally enthusiastic. A year ago I ordered the same dinner and it was exactly the same, just as good. Many of the staff at the Black Angus have been working here for decades, so they know what they are doing, and you are in good hands. The cost (under $20 to over $40 each, depending on entree, wine, etc.) is reasonable, especially considering the quality. If I had to pick a negative point it would be that there is no view of the ocean from the comfortable dining room — So take a stroll on the Boardwalk after dinner. Plenty of municipal parking is close by. Highly recommended.
