Food was delicious. Tacos slightly on the spicy side. May dream about that guacamole dip for the rest of my life. Best I’ve ever had. Service was good as well but it took over 45 min to get our food.
We arrived at the restaurant at approx. 6pm hoping to catch Happy Hour which was slated from 4pm-7pm on the website. Low and behold we were told that happy hour ended at 6pm. Then the hostess seated two other parties that came came in well after we did. When I asked here WHEN she planned on seating us, she sheepishly apologized and said she forgot about us. We were then seated and eventually ordered our drinks and meal. The service was tepid and slow. It took about 30 minutes to get our food and it was decent. I had the chicken nachos, my son had the wings and fries, and my wife had the brisket tacos which were delicious. The server warmed up to us after our food came in but at first he was cold and indifferent. This our second time to this joint and the first time was stellar. Perhaps the rush of customers overwhelmed the staff, perhaps this is the natural state of the restaurant. I don’t know what the problem was on this visit, but I think we will not be returning to Cactus Jacks.
PERFECT HAPPY HOUR. Waiter was friendly and told us it would be cheaper to get a large order versus 2 of the happy hour orders. Margs for $5 were delicious. Chicken quesedilla for $5 awesome. $5 calamari was a steal. And the Southwest BLT was the best I’ve ever had, gotta love the jalapeo bacon!!
