My friends and I went to calypso back in September and were left with a bad taste in our mouth, yet decided to give them another chance in March in case it was a fluke. This second time around, they made us wait for inside seating for about 40 minutes and texted us to tell is they had a table ready. They in fact didn’t have a table ready but because we had waited long enough, we decided it would be best to take a table outside. The hostess sat us at a table that hadn’t been fully picked up, never brought us menus, and never identified our waiter/waitress. No drinks were offered. After ten minutes we left. No reason to beg for service when you are surrounded by so many restaurants.
The jerk chicken exceeded expectations and was the best meal I had on my visit to VA Beach. The atmosphere is kind of an unfinished idea.
LOVE the fist tacos and French fries. One of my favorite beach places to meet up with friends!
Wonderful place to eat or just have a few drinks. Great food, great serve , fair prices, live music and fabulous location!

Great drinks. My husband and I went for drinks after dinner. We were wanting mojitos. We stopped in at 4 different bars on the beach and none of them served mojitos. Calypso had a variety of specialty mojitos and martinis. We each had 2 drinks, spent $32. We liked everything we had.
Steak bites should be renamed steak scraps. Great for a dog. Otherwise, a rip off at any price.
