The apparent owner, a scruffy pubic hair faced as*hole, does not seem how to one-on-one communication in dealing with people can be done with decorum. He pointed middle fingers at a customer he was yelling at about something that should have been handled out of the sight of customers on a holiday weekend. He seems like a complete HOT HEAD just from eavesdropping on his vulgar verbiage. BOTTOM LINE: he seems like a loose cannon, at the very least, and we can all sense who he wants for President in November! Make your own choice on this one, but this guy is DANGEROUS to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront – avoid this Java Surf, and the other.
Prices were pretty high. I had a latte which was good. I also has ‘The Frank’ which was a bagel with lox. They didn’t skimp on the lox. It was okay-could have used more capers. Atmosphere was good.
The best place for breakfast or lunch. I love that I can get good breakfast food. Most of the food in tourist areas are carb heavy. This place offers a variety of choices for decent prices. The staff is so friendly and really wants to serve their customers. The music and artwork is perfect to create a relaxing atmosphere. We never felt rushed to finish. Their servers always spoke to you with a smile. Definitely a two thumbs up!
Hole in the wall goodness. Off the beaten path, hidden in the corner of a retail strip center, next to Wave Works surf shop. Really good breakfast and service with outside seating. The breakfast sandwiches have large portions. Yummmmmmm.
Hidden Treasure for locals and tourists both. I have never (ever) been to a coffee show that had this extensive of a menu of this caliber of made-to-order food. I have had at least seven different things on this menu and every single item has been off the charts great! No, this is not the place to get a two dollar hot dog; it’s not meant to be. The food is made fresh to order of high quality meats and cheeses and everything is large, unique, incredibly tasty and definitely worth the money. The owner is super personable and knows his coffee, which is also always freshly delivered and freshly ground. I highly recommend this place!
Changed hands again. It’s a good location with a succession of lousy owners 5 in the last 5 or 6 years. It’s new owner is at least trying to right pastshort comings, Prices are still crazy high and the coffee selection is very limited ( one ) but it is a work in progress. It would be hard not to improve overThe last 3 owners. It is much cleaner brighter and much less clutteredTime will tell it would be nice to have it back how it was. We need a good coffee shop in that location.
The only chicken salad sandwich you will want. I recently experience a wonderful chicken salad sandwich at Java Surf Beach Cafe. After the wonderful experience I was determined to go to various other restaurants to see if the Java Sandwich was truly the best in town. I am now totaly convinced that it is the only Chicken Salad sandwich I would ever want.
