Eh.. I ordered in for lunch. The fried mushrooms were brown and crispy on the outside but really mushy on the inside. They had ZERO taste, almost like water. My cheese steak was alright, the mushrooms they charge to add on top of it were canned so they also had zero flavor. The total for a cheese steak that did NOT come with a side of fries and an order of fried mushrooms was $16.00!!! I was kind of taken back but was willing to give it a shot. When I opened the over flowing SMALL to go box for my oh so many mushrooms there was marinara sauce all over the mushrooms and I don’t like marinara so I threw out more than half of them. On top of that the top of the marinara ramekin was completely melted an flattened so that’s why all the marinara got all over the place. I’ve heard a lot of different reviews about North End Pizza but was disappointed with the quality of the food.

Great AUthentic NY Pie!. I love pizza. I had the opportunity to try North End’s Pizza. It was delicious. It had the fresh crust that was yeasty and steamy and full of flavor. The ingredients are all fresh and the sauce recipe is straight of Mama’s Kitchen if you know what I mean. I really enjoyed this pizza. The only problem I had was that I had to share the Pizza with other people. Really well done North End.
Wow… I can’t believe that this place has a 90% rating. I came here a few nights ago for dinner and it was the crappiest pizza I’ve had in a long, long time. Just one of those old Hampton Roads traditions that can keep paying the rent by churning out cheap food. Our mushroom pizza was just a white flour crust, mozz, and red sauce with a can of mushrooms dumped on top…gross. The rest of the food that I saw looked edible, but that’s about all I can say. Cheap all around.
Fresh?. I had a pizza there the other night, and there were canned mushrooms on it. That may not be a problem for some, but for me it was a picture of laziness. Ugh.
Not too shabby. My wife and I ordered a pepperoni for delivery from North End after our disappointing dinner at Sakura Japanese on the first night of our honeymoon in Virginia Beach. We were staying at the Sheraton, so we were essentially across the street from the restaurant. I can’t really remember how long it took the deliveryman to arrive, but it didn’t seem like an extraordinary amount of time. The deliveryman was nice, we tipped him well, and the pizza was pretty good. All in all, a pleasurable experience.
AVERAGE. If you are looking for a pizza burger joint that you can just drop in/pick up and eat…this is the place for you by the beach. What’s nice about it too is that it has a Herschey’s ice cream parlor right next door for dessert. The food is average at best. I tried the chicken pita sandwich and found the chicken tasteless and stringy. If it wasn’t for the the sauce it would have little taste at all. Hubby had the burgers and didn’t have any complaints. Found the fries to be rather crunchy and greasy. The shared iced cream afterwards was yummy….pecan praline and peanut butter v. chocolate.
