Perchance the dream of fluffy pancakes stacked high and running over with maple syrup, teetering on a plate bolstered by bacon and ham, would still be alive had we not crossed the threshold of Pocahontas Pancake House. Instead greeted by a hostess shoved in the corner like an ill-advised Christmas present, we paused to digest only the notice of an hour-plus wait, our view filled with the jorts and red-white tan lines of tourists from across the great state of West Virginia jammed together in such a configuration that even Escher couldnt fathom before demurring, retreating back into the sunlight of our shattered pancake dreams.
