Two words!. Oysters Rockefeller! Simply the best in the world. Get there early however. Unfortunately as it gets later they now cram a DJ in the place and make it the same as every other bar on the block.
Very Very Shocked. My husband and took a little vacation. And come to Va Beach . This was the worst place to visit in March 2013 . There was no restaurant open and the few we found were horrible . There was nothing to do .But we decided to make the best of it and take a stroll down the beach and try to find a place for lunch . And we came upon this restaurant The seaside Raw Bar . From the out side it didn’t look to good . but were cold and hungry . When we open the door we were greeted by the sweetest young man . Told us to come on and have a seat at the bar and get warmed up . He ask what we wanted to drink and we told him what kind of drinks we liked and he made these two drink One that fit mu husband perfect whiskey and i don’t know what else .And he made me a fruity drink and i loved it . We also ordered the Oysters Rockefeller Witch was great and he made us a couple Sandwitches and a bowl of Clam chowder . It was all perfect . we ended up staying there for about 3 hours and had the best time . He was friendly and it made our day . It was the High lite of the trip . If we do go back I will go back to this place . It was wonderful . I am so glad we didn’t judge book by its cover and just walk by . I am glad we went in . I would recommend this place to all my friends
Used to be the greatest locals place at the beach with the greatest seafood. The latest owner has turned it into yet another hip hop club that infects the rest of the beach.13 Jan, 2011Only the best. If anything, you simply must stop by here for Oysters Rockefeller. Have tried those many places around the country at this point and will never bother even attempting them outside of Seaside. The sandwiches are quite good as well. Their staff is always welcoming with a great sense of humor. Great locals hang out.
It was empty during lunchtime, which we took as a bad sign. Then the smell hit us. It wasn’t that fresh seafood smell. It was a mix between a fishing dock and a men’s locker room. The server acted like we were weirdos when we ordered half-portions of our chosen entres, which were options stated on the menu. I’m not a cheapskate when it comes to dining out on good food, but this place was definitely overpriced. If the price was a little cheaper, the paper plates which our food was served on might’ve actually been charming, but it turned out to be rather insulting.
Great Food. Nice little bar with good seafood, limited menu but plenty taste, nice folks and a plain sort of bar look. But food is great! so are prices. I have ate there plenty times.
After two orders of crab legs and oysters (incredible James river, farm raised, awesome!)
