Better off cooking out at home!. This place was far from good! I was veeeeeeeery disappointed. The only place I’ll be returning to is Five Guys (Midwest-East coast) and In-N-Out (West Coast). What a waste of money… I’ll just make my own burgers at home and have my friends over.
Cheap and Good. Great place for burgers and milk shakes. Combos are less than $4 and pretty darn good. Blueberry milkshake’s soo good. Seems to have actual berries in it. There are plenty of other fried goodies I want to try. Inside is clean and the staff is friendly! Definitely coming back!
For starters we wanted foot long hot dogs and they didnt have any we were told they were out of them had no idea when there would be more? second you had to pay for chili and onions on your hot dog! the regular hot dogs were skinny and NASTY TASTING!!! we ordered a HUGE Hamburger and instead of giving one huge hamburger you got 2 small one which were dry as heck! even the lettuce and tomatoes were cooked? and everything was thrown on the sandwiches and hot dogs that it was all over the container not on the food itself!!! I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS COOK OUT NO MATTER WHERE IT IS LOCATED THE FOOD AND SERVICE IS HORRIBLE . RATHER HAVE EATEN AT MCDONALD’S AND I HATE MCDONALD’S FOOD AS WELL. THEY NEED TO EAT THERE OWN FOOD AND FIND OUT JUST HOW BAD IT REALLY IS. NEVER GO THERE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Made a few attempts to try this place but too crowded. Tonight, out with wife and kids so gave it another shot. Very nice exterior and clean inside, that’s about it for the good part. Looked at the paper menu while in line so things would run smooth at the register. My hopes were dashed. My daughter wanted the bbq plate, no slaw ( we don’t eat mayo ). Big no. Told her i wanted to sub additional side and would pay extra, no. Told her to just leave it off the plate entirely, no. HAD to come on the plate. Another counter person said the tray had no slaw. Whatever, just give me bbq and fries w no slaw, don’t care otherwise. Left remainder of order to my wife, I’d had enough already. She got cheesburger plate. Looked remarkably like a hamburger since it had no cheese but wasn’t going through the front again. Son had hot dog which is pretty hard to mess up unless they forget to give you the ketchup. I elected to wait and eat at home. Sides are silly. Nuggets, chili, casedea, fries and slaw of course. No beans etc. Who wants a meat side to go with their meat? Three different milk shakes which were ice milk instead rounded off this glories feast. If you want sandwich dressed, better let them know and good luck on condiments. Food was marginal. Will I go back? Not even if you’re paying. Lived in Carolina for years. This is not Carolina bbq.
Good — Almost Great. Stopped in for lunch one day and was amazed at the menu choices. 32 flavors of milk shakes! I had a banana shake that was really good, with pieces of banana in it. The burger menu takes getting used to, I guess, there were a lot of options from which to choose. I took a stab at a Huge Burger, Western Style, and that turned out to be a good choice. Two juicy, but not too juicy, patties with onions, tomato, lettuce, pickles, BBQ sauce and other things. Really good. Fries were not the best part of the meal, but were decent. I’ll go back sometime when I can study the menu more closely. BTW, I noticed a new Cookout being built near JANAF Shopping Mall in Norfolk.
Parking. Don’t park at the Shell station!!! They will tow you…$125.00 to get it dropped…the food is good, but not THAT good!
Worse Ever…. I’m not sure what to say here… We finally tried this place tonight and it was absolutely the worst experience ever in our lives. I ordered a Cajun chicken, French fries, and coleslaw. I ate two bites of the sandwich and couldn’t eat anymore. Coleslaw was nasty and only fries were eatable to me. Still that wasn’t the greatest kind. My husband had a BBQ sandwich, chili, and onion rings. The chili was so gross and so were onion rings. He ate some of sandwich. I said I never knew this place could be this bad. He said, this is pretty bad. We won’t be back. If you are the mind of people just be able to eat anything, you might like it because it’s cheap. I mean, it taste cheap to us. I don’t know what kind of meat was in the chili. We like good food even if we have to pay for it. We won’t go back there.
