My husband and I decided to try Thai food for the first time a few months ago and settled on this place since it’s close to our house. A few friends recommended Pad Thai for a good basic dish to try first and once I tried it, I knew I needed to have it every time. The flavor and textures are incredible, with just the right amount of heat (I asked for medium spice). We have tried a few other Thai places now, but we agree that Thai Papaya has the best. Affordability is a great bonus. We also love their chicken egg rolls!
Best in Va. I have been a faithful customer at Thai Papaya for 5 strong years and I love the food. I prefer the Newport News location over Hampton but since my work is in Hampton I normally go to that restaurant. The owner is very friendly and personable and Thai Papaya 2 cannot be beat! I attempted only once because they were closed to go to a diff Thai place which put the authenticity to shame so I stick with what I know. You will not be disappointed and Thai papaya 2 is the place to eat at as they make vegetable egg rolls and fresh spring rolls which the Hampton location doesn’t make. I Love the food and the place it’s woth anyone trying, you will not be disappointed.
I’ve been here a few times and the food is always delicious. The location isn’t ideal. If it was this place would be packed all the time. If you’re nearby you won’t regret stopping in.
For the most part I like this Thai food. I think twice it was a miss but I think maybe it depends who’s cooking the food? Kind of a mom and pop place. Everyone we have encountered is really friendly. I would recommend trying.
This is a great place to eat. However the service is questionable. I told one young lady that is a server that it looked like she was losing weight and now ever time I visit she gives me the evil eye and will not serve my table. She wears heavy black eye liner. Look out for her and spend your money else where. I will never go back.
Good food, even better service. Went away happy and will return.
New to Newport News and decided to give a try. We happen to find it by accident because of it hidden off of Victory. Ordered red curry and it was delicious (just the right spicy) wife ordered peppered steak and also very satisfied. Little bum because she would if preferred more on her plate. The staff is friendly . Will be returning
