One more thing -. I can’t believe I forgot… that have freakin HOPSLAM! You can’t get this seasonal Bells brew ANYWHERE. A very allocated beer and they offer it on the menu. I was shocked.15 May, 2014FABULOUS first time – will be back!. Sarah and Maggie gave a phenomenal team effort to ensure our experience was 5 star. They knew the menu and gave great recommendations. The wine I ordered was perfect and one I’d never had before. The saffron mussels kicked off our meal, then on to foie gras which is still on my mind when I wake up in the morning 2 days later. I ordered duck and risotto – which is odd considering I hate duck and I ate the entire thing (slow cooked for hours Maggie said and I was sold). My fiance liked the pork chop a lot. I even ordered another foie gras for dessert. I would highly recommend this establishment. Esthetically appealing although not a very large restaurant so if you go during dinner rush, expect to wait. I was smart and went early and loved every second of my experience.

First visit. So far the waitress is GREAT, the music is GREAT, the noise level is GREAT. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a restaurant so loud! I’m loving the goat chees/beet salad. There’s just nothing to buffer the sound. Chicken fried tofu is fab and my husband loves the fried chicken

Ordered the cassoulet last night and it was really bad. Besides white beans there was one duck leg. Duck appeared to be braised not comfit. Where was sausage? Pork belly? Really disappointed.

No Thank You. I have been watching the slow downfall of this restaurant for some time now. They seem to have a small cult like following that has altered the owners perception of reality and how a restaurant and staff should be ran. Like some others have already commented, the staff is seriously lacking, and the price for what you get ratio is not worth it. What the heck is up with the cheese plate? Lucky a year ago and Lucky now are two separate entities. If youre looking for a fine dining experience in Roanoke that will knock your socks off I suggest Blue Apron.

I love pretty much everything about this restaurant! The food is always amazing. I could eat the ceasar salad every night! I frequently eat the mussels & fried chicken too. The steaks ate so tender I have been know to order one for my 2 year old!I am a wine & beer drinker…. So I am always pleased with the recommendations the staff makes for me . My girlfriends tell me the cocktails are fabulous, award winning even, but like I said…. Not my thing:)Above all I love the vibe in Lucky. The place just feels cool & the staff is always awesome and never pretentious. Overall I must say great job to Lucky!

Go Somewhere Else…. I went to Lucky for the last time two weeks ago after far too many bad experiences. They always seem to be short staffed, and the waitress that is always working is rude and disappears for long periods of time. I stood in line with a friend as people behind us continued to line up out the door, the waitress passed by without even saying a word to any of us. Waited 15 minutes for a drink, a simple mojito, and it was so sour it was painful to drink. I have never sent a drink back in my life, but if I could have caught the attention of someone on staff I would have. Took an hour all together to receive my single drink, drink it, and find someone on staff willing to take my payment. And believe me we had to hunt them down. The food is mediocre as well, not bad, but definitely not worth the price. The drinks are normally great, but expensive compared to what youd pay anywhere else downtown. The staff is what makes the entire experience not worth it.
