I decided to wing it and give this place a try this week. The vibe was that of a typical micro pub. Standing room only at 7:00 pm. waited only about 15 minutes for a table though. The staff was pleasant and not pushy as I looked it over carefully. I started with the appetizer of shrimp. These were spot on! 6 big juicy ones that had some house made beer batter. The dipping sauces were very good but possible I could have done without it as the batter was so good. The shrimp was done just right golden brown with no heavy areas that were too dark.I moved along to the entre of pork tacos. The tacos were served on soft taco shells and stuffed with smoked pork. The inside was also layered with lettuce and tomato. The sauce along side was the same as with the shrimp. Sweet and almost reminded me of shrimp sauce at some Asian restaurants. The meat was very well done and juicy .The entre typically come with beans and rice but I switched to sweet potato fries for the slight upcharge. The sauce then became my ketchup and I was set!Quite nice for a datenight. Will be back at some point in the future.

Fish tacos with red beans and rice at the tap room. Seasonings weren’t really there, but good idea for components. Loved the beer selection for Roanoke, definitely more vast than some of the places I’ve seen. Staff and atmosphere were definitely energetic! Being a chef I am very critical however I would not count out a return visit.
The Tap Room is awesome, great staff as well. Showed up on short notice with a party of 8 and they worked really hard to make room for us. Good food and great beer. If you haven’t been you should try it, there’s a reason it’s crowded.
Always a good time. Great location even though the parking kind of sucks on popular nights. But if you’re biking or running from the greenway, what a great place to stop for a beer and pizza.Delicious food, great drink selection, great service. Love this place. I keep going and going back!
Great ambiance, more than decent food. Location, ambiance, outdoor patio, and beer selection are great…as are the pork nachos and pork tacos. Sometimes the food comes out less than hot…but they are quick to fix it.
The sweet potato fries are amazing!! The pizza that I had was okay, nothing to write home about but I have certainly had worse. My husband had the fish of the day sandwich which was cod and it was fried beautifully and the bite I had was very good. It’s a tap room and the beers were plentiful and our server made several great recommendation. I look forward to returning
