Great Authentic Mexican!!!. This place was awesome. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Our waiter checked on us frequently and service was prompt. The food was amazing! Iv’e lived in Texas for 10 years, so I’ve had a lot of authentic Mexican food, and im glad to see that there is a good restaurant for it here in Roanoke. The chips were warm and crispy, the portions were big, their salsa is great. The food was definitely spicy, but that’s to be expected of course. I found the whole experience fully satisfying. Thank you!
Finally, authentic Mexican food in Roanoke.. As a transplanted Southern Californian I’ve been missing authentic Mexican food for four years now. This place is the real deal. Outstanding fresh Mexican food, the owners are warm, friendly, and the chef knows what he is doing. I hope they do really well because I tell you it was like going home to me when I walked in the door and smelt all the wonderful odors. This is not faux, canned, lousy Mexican food, this is the best. It’s not fancy in dcor but if you want to experience great food at reasonable prices, this is a wonderful little place. Thank you so much for opening in Roanoke. You made this Southern Cali girl very happy!!!
Excellent Grassroots Mexican Fare!. I found this place while visiting Roanoke for an Education Convention. It is a true gem and a mere 1.5 miles from the Sheraton Roanoke Conference Center. We’re talking genuine Mexican fair at very reasonable prices. This place is very plain in terms of decor, but clean and well kept. I had Plantanos Fritos (Fried Plantains) and Huarachas (2 Oval Corn cakes topped w/beef & pork, refried beans, lettuce, and Queso Fresca). I had 2 sauces, one Baja style and the other Verdi.
Fantastic food! This is a place that you must try. I am from out of town but will be dining here again when I return if for no other reason than the food itself. The restaurant also serves as a little convenient store for Mexican foods so the atmosphere is not what you might expect but don’t let that deter you from trying it. The food seemed very authentic. Food and service were fantastic!
As Mexican as it gets outside of Mexico. Incredible, fresh, delicioso food! All the traditional Mexican staples, as well as some adventurous options and daily specials that are to die for! Love it whn there is some sort of caldo (soup) that day – comes in a bowl as big as my head filled with fresh veggies and the best broth ever! Roanoke should really give this place a try and come away from some of the other Mexican places in town…find out what REAL Mexican food is all about! It is a completely different taste that you’ll fall in love with.
Phenomenal authentic Mexican food. Pork chicken steak tripe or beef tongue. Tacos burritos quesadillas and others. All for under 10 bucks.
Really good. If you’re looking for Virginia style faux-mex, try somewhere else. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican, this is your place. Be warned, the interior decorating is not the main attraction, but the food is the real deal. I will be back as often as possible.
