Been coming here for years. If you’re looking for fancy, you’re not going to get it. This place caters to folks who know what they want and will wait despite the crowds. We drove down from Vienna, VA just to eat the roast beef sandwich with house dressing. Got three jars of the dressing to take home. Ate at the counter and enjoyed the meal. Yes it’s crowded, yes the ordering could be more efficient, however, it works for me. Be patient, it’s worth the wait. If you’re not into crowds, go to WAWA.
Me and my family was so disrespectfully treated today by the manager/owner that I don’t even know where to start. We have been frequent customers of Fat Canary and weekly customers of Cheese Shop for 10 years, shopped their wine cellar very often. So yesterday was our day out with our 15 month old, we decided to stop and have some wine in their tent We bought some cookies from the bakery next door for our son. My husband went to get the wine, we left the box of pastries on the table in the tent and I stepped inside to ask one of the employees to turn the heater on since it was getting chilly. When we returned our pastries were gone. An employee apologized, said he was cleaning and didn’t think someone was still there and he thought it was trash and threw it away. I got upset but it was ok, wasn’t a big deal. He felt really bad, pulled it out of trash, sat it on the table next to us and said he would go and ask the manager to reimburse me. I told him it was ok and not to worry about it. He was really nice trying to correct it and I have no complaints about him. Then came one of the owners, and told us in a very rude way that it was their policy to throw trash away and clean tables. And then she asked us if she could PULL ANYTHING OUT FROM THE TRASH FOR US? Can you imagine? She offered to serve me food from trash. Did they always serve us with trash in Fat Canary too?Maybe because I spoke with accent and she decided it was ok to insult me like that. Then with a big production and satiric smile she pointed at the box that the guy pulled out and said if she could throw it away. Her treatment was so unacceptable and so insulting that I would never be their customer again. She was racist, snobby and disrespectful
