Food for Thought has something for everybody-vegetarian options, a substantial seafood selection, and items perfect in bypassing dietary restrictions. The menu is extensive, so I’m glad that I knew what I wanted beforehand! I had the lunch grilled cheese special with soup. I had a grilled cheese with crab, asparagus, and old bay mayo with a side of shrimp bisque soup. Before I received my food, they served me a fresh onion roll and slice of cornbread. The onion roll was extremely warm and freshly baked, though the cornbread lacked some flavor. The grilled cheese was delicious, though my complaint is that none of the cheese was melted. As a sandwich, it was fine, but it was a little disappointing to see the sandwich missing the best part. The shrimp bisque was quite good, though it needed more shrimp. The service was outstanding, which made up for the meal shortcomings. The server was very helpful in her lunch suggestions and also gave me a discount if I decided to come back. I would be happy to come back to try some of the dinner items.

A good place for American comfort food. Grandma’s meatloaf is satisfying. Alewerks amber ale a good way to wash it down. Go early, it gets full fast!

Took my dad and family on Father’s day and the restaurant was slammed but the wait wasn’t bad and they were steadily moving patrons along. The Decor was nice and considering how busy they were I expected the place to be wrecked but apparently the staff was really staying on top of the place. Tables, floors, restroom (men’s anyway) were clean and ready for guests. The wait staff was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Our waitress took her time explaining the menu and answering questions about some pretty unique dishes. There were at least 5 or 6 really interesting sounding entrees, but of course 1 was more than enough. The restaurant is a bit of a ride for us but there is no doubt it will draw us back up the road to Williamsburg to sample more of the menu soon. Food for Thought was one of the best meals we have had at a restaurant in a while… They did their part in making Father’s day a little extra special. Thanks

Best dinner in Williamsburg ever! Dinner for eight and everyone left happy and full. All agreed they would live to come back. Wonderful wait staff. Will be back soon!!

I was really hopeful for a healthy option with enough variety to satisfy 2 teenagers; great ambience & waitstaff but my curry tofu was dry, with minimal sauce & pretty boring. That said my 17 year old girl loved her steak & sweet potato fries, 13 year old son enjoyed his BLT & husband loved his pot roast. Definitely call for expedited seating- not a reservation but we only waited 3 minutes.

Delicious! Definitely worth the wait if there is one. Eclectic menu with a ton of veggie options. Best of Both worlds is a filet and crab cake. Steak was a little on the rare side for medium rare but I was great with that. It had a tasty chargrilled taste and the crab cake was delicious as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.
