Food was delicious! They embody the farm to table experience and use all local ingredients when possible. Food was top notch. Prices started at 25 up to 35 for entrees and were certainly worth the price. Great place for special occasions and those looking for a superb dining experience.

Wonderful food and service. After much seeking we have finally found our go to place for seafood and it’s close to home! The only suggestion I would make to improve the place would be for them to add tablecloths. The drinks make water puddles which is messy.

Very good food. Very crowded. Need reservation and had to wait. Had grits and scallops.

Definitely an improvement over my last visit. Very good service for brunch today. Spring vegetable risotto appetizer was very well seasoned with a good mix of veggies, but needed a few more minutes on the stove to get to al dente. Cobb salad entree with chicken was disappointing. Good portion of well-seasoned chicken, but overdressed with ranch and (dare I say it) too much blue cheese. Field greens totally overpowered by dressing and hearty toppings- maybe try romaine or Bibb lettuce, and dressing on the side. Dessert table gone. Instead, diners get mini portions (2 bites) of 4 desserts. Peach tart was a winner, but the chocolate black cherry bread pudding was a downer. Chocolate cupcake with peanut butter mousse was dry and tasteless, and the mousse was very heavy. Peach cobbler was mostly crumb topping, though the caramel sauce was tasty. I look forward to these monthly brunches with this group of friends, so I really hope Waypoint keeps improving!!!15 Apr, 2012Okay brunch spot. Brunch cocktails overpriced – $8 bloody Mary’s, mimosas, and champagne cocktails. Portions are okay, dessert table disappointing. No fresh fruit & cheese, and not one chocolate dessert! I’m happy to stick to my favorites: Schlessingers in Newport News, Mosaic in Richmond.

No Customer Service, Food Good. Was looking forward to dinner here. We were celebrating my dad’s birthday. My parents had been there before and liked the food.I thought it was going to be a pleasant surprise since there is a lack of good places to eat in Williamsburg. The server brought me a taste of a beer before I ordered it – off to a good start. We he came back to deliver the drinks he spilled my dad’s martini in my lap. While he apologized and started to pick up the broken glass – he didn’t do much else. I was soaked in gin down to my foundations and no one brought be extra napkins. I had to ask to be moved to another table – rather than sit with broken glass, I had to ask to be shown the ladies room to dry off. No management got involved. The server clearly didn’t have very much training or skill – more of an order taker than a professional. The food was good, we did enjoy everything that we ordered. The entrees did take a long time though. When the check came – everything was on the bill – I would have expected them to buy our first drinks at least since I was still damp and reeked of gin. I went to the front and asked to speak to a manager – it turned out there was none – just a hostess in charge. She apologized and removed the martini – but it didn’t seem very sincere. The server never told anyone in charge that he had spilled a drink – or if he did, they clearly didn’t care. Very disappointing!!

Okay But. My spouse and I decided to try Waypoint for lunch Saturday. It was our first and last time to go there. We were casual in our dress so that might have been why we were greeted slowly and with hesitation. Once seated in the front area of the restaurant, it took a few minutes for our waitress to come and her service would be the best part of our visit. We were told the specials for the day and our drink order was taken. My spouse selected the chef’s omelet which was suppose to be crab, gruyere cheese, and asparagus with either fruit or salad. He chose the salad. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with herbed vegetable medley. My spouse did not like the omelet he said the crab, cheese, and asparagus filling was very strange tasting fishy only. The salad although quite small was okay. My chicken schnitzel was average for the chicken breast was not pounded out as schnitzels’ in Germany are made. The herbed vegetable medley was okay but small in quantity. The cost didn’t not match the quality of food served. During the time we were there a few more customers came in for lunch. One group of customers warranted the co-owner to come out to say hello, wish them well while dining, and calling their server immediately to the table. I mention this for She did not interact with any other customer while we were there to include us. This none interaction said volumes to us as patrons that we were not worthy nor were others of her attention. High price for average food and the co-owner’s action makes this a not return place for us.

Lunch on Saturday, Jan 21, 2012. Saturday, Jan 21, 2012.Nice interior, friendly bartender. Restaurant was busy but not overcrowded for lunch. The lunch and dinner menus are different. You can’t order dinner entrees at lunch time although some items on both menus overlap. My partner ordered the pulled pork. I ordered the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was VERY, VERY salty and I could not eat it. (Mind you, I am Southern and am used to salty, savory foods… but the white sauce was way too salty and some of the chicken had gristle in it.) We asked for a box to take the pot pie home. We will rinse the excess salt and sauce off the chicken and give it to our dog… the sauce and salty vegetables will go down the disposal. The barbecue was below average to fair. Better pork barbecue can be had at either Pierce’s or the County Grill. Waiter was a bit slow on water and coffee refills, but very polite and friendly.Partner and I will give the restaurant a 2nd try for the evening meal and see how that goes. Perhaps the chef specializes more in seafood. We’ll see.Right now, the restaurant is VERY popular and the evening sittings are already booked two weeks out in advance.I’m interested in seeing how other diners have fared at this new restaurant. Perhaps we picked two really off selections from the lunch menu.
