Best kept secret in Winchester!. Authentic Peruvian dishes. Chicken has great flavor and is cooked perfectly. The fried yucca is really great. Just like I had when I lived in Latin America. They will give one of the yellow dipping sauce with the yucca. Get 10 of them! It is so good.
Never busy, always delicious. Consistent execution can make even the simplest restaurants a local favorite. Everyone knows Boston Market, but if you want the real-deal rotisserie-style chicken, then you need to stop by Perus Chicken in Kernstown. Low prices, speedy preparation and moist chicken keep me returning for an easy lunch with my dad. – – In the handful of times Ive been, I still havent strayed from the 1/2 chicken plate with two sizes (fried yucca plus rice & beans). One of these days Im going to try a burrito, but anything there is good with the spicy green sauce and cool yellow sauce. – – For some reason this place never seems busy with the 10 or so tables, but I do see people coming and going with takeout orders. Of note, they have free delivery on orders over $20. Nothing special with dining in (no tablecloths), but Perus Chicken is a great place for a weekday lunch and pretty easy to get to off exit 310 from I-81.
