Some the Best Latin Food in Hampton Roads. This place sits in a strip mall and is attached to a Hispanic food mart next to far more popular Williamsburg Asian buffet, Peking. Everyone in Williamsburg seems to flock to Plaza Azteca these days, but if venture here for something more authentic and different than your run of the mill Mexican place. The service can be hit or miss sometimes, but the owner that my wife and I met on our first visit was a sweet and kind fellow that made us feel right at home and even gave us some hookups. I love the tacos here and there are a few that will appeal to the more open eaters, but the tacos de tripas (intestines) and tacos de lenguas (beef tongue) are just fantastic. The Al Pastor tacos (pork and grilled pineapple in a tangy?sweet sauce) are just to die for and the best I have ever had. Ask for the chicharon papusas as well…they are absolutely amazing and be sure to put all the fixings the provide on there as well for maximum flavor. The fried yucca fries with chicharones are a great way to start things out and way batter that your average fries with bacon. The plantain desert is great too. I work with some folks from El Salvador and they eat stuff like this all the time and I just love it. There is the traditional chips and salsa as well, but the salsa is fantastic. there is even a fixings bar that you may help yourself to, free of charge and all the salsas and extras are made from scratch. Careful though…some of them are really spicy! The atmosphere may not be the most amazing thing ever, but do not judge this book by its’ cover. I am a chef that has eaten food all over and this is hands down one of my favorite Hispanic restaurants of all time. Please go support this fine eatery…if it ever goes under because of poor business, I will be a sad man. It is so delicious and so refreshing after eating at so many Mexican joints all over the country that just seem to be mirror images of one another. I can’t wait to keep exploring the rest of the menu and supporting El Sabrason.

You should try this place. The chips and salsa they provide when you first go in are very good. The meal was yummy, the portions are large…it’s family friendly, and the sweet tea tastes just like grandma’s.
Lots of flavorable food. great place to eat for traditional latin food. waitress was wonderful
A must to try. Food is very good and they now deliver. will be a weekly trip to eat
Finally something that that is latin and different than the standard mexican food you find everywhere. No frills atmosphere but very good exotic food. Good prices, good service. Excellent food!
