Great All-Around Local Restaurant. I’m not one to write reviews, but I couldn’t resist this time around. Recently, Food Craft hosted a luncheon of 40+ people, with only a day’s notice, and from the service to the food, everything was excellent. I had never been to Food Craft prior to last week, but went twice in as many days, and the food and service I received both times were great. The french toast were absolutely incredible as were the blueberry pancakes. The price is right and the atmosphere is perfect. After reading some of the past reviews, I feel that some folks should perhaps scale back their expectations when visiting a popular local establishment and just enjoy the fact that a place like this exists. All I know is that when I get the chance again, I’ll be going back for more!
Too Hot. I like the food – when it is properly cooked, which isn’t always the case. I like the atmosphere. But the owner is apparently trying to save money on air conditioning – to the customer’s discomfort. It is entirely too warm. Maybe the owner wants to hurry people out so they won’t have a second cup of coffee.
Poor Customer Service. Good food but poor customer service. Specials were listed on the wall but with no prices.First restaurant I’ve ever been in that would not seat two people–because the 3rd person in my party was running late. My husband and I waited for 20 minutes and when are name came up–we were told we could not be seated until she arrived. Not good customer service in my book. I won’t go back. There are plenty of local restaurants that have equally good food and better customer service.
I love the food and the atmosphere. However, today was my fourth visit to this establishment in 2 months, and I have yet to see even ONE Black employee, and that concerns me. And, yes – I’ve looked in the kitchen. Each time I’ve come, 40-50% of the customers have been Black. If this owner ( who happens to be Asian) is purposefully not hiring African-Americans, she’s lost my business, and she should lose yours, too.
This place has the best breakfast. I love their pecan pancakes. Everything is good
Great tasting breakfast. Had breakfast with folks from work. Food was tasty and well prepared. Place is a little hidden and out of way but people seem to find it. Will go again soon!
By 2nd Visit He Remembered. First time eating here was with family visiting from out of town, 2nd time I ventured solo….the waiter remembered what I ordered. I’m writing this during my umpteenth visit to Food Craft and its still the best breakfast and $5 mimosas in York/NewportNews.
