Not a great experience. We visited the restaurant on our honeymoon. We had heard good things about the restaurant, and even though initially we were told there were no window seats, they did seat us next to a window. We were pleased. The atmosphere was great, and the food was pretty good–but pricey. Our main problem was as follows. I ordered a ‘vodka martini’. When the dinner was over, I noticed I was charged for a ‘Grey Goose vodka martini’. I questioned the waitress, and she told me that she does this all the time as she thinks the ‘house vodka’ martini is terrible. She–obviously flustered–never came back to our table and sent another server out to give us our check. I called the manager, Kathy, after we got home and told her about this. She took down my name and address and said she’d get back to us right away. She said that this (overcharging) is not standard operating procedure in her restauraunt and that she was not pleased. I honestly assumed she was going to send us a coupon for a free meal or something. I think that would have been the classy thing to do. But as it turns out, she never did got back to us. She never contacted us again. And we won’t be returning, unfortunately, to this restaurant.

This place USED TO BE great. I have eaten here for years. Every year when I go on vacation, eating at Riverwalk is on my must-do list and in my weeklong stay I tend to eat there at least 3 times- sometimes lunch, sometimes dinner. The prices have always been moderate but the food was always, always worth it. The service was always exceptional. This was my favorite place to eat. Last year, we had such a great time and our server was so great. I asked to speak to the manager and told her how much we loved dining there and how we thought our server was just fantastic. I always ordered the special because it was usually something I would never consider eating anywhere else- maybe mango and hot pepper this time or some other kind of pairing I found strange that would turn out to be thrilling. I always ate too much- appetizer, meal, and dessert. This last visit was much different. We ordered the ginger-soy shrimp appetizer, which was nothing special. Then we were presented with 2 small yeast rolls on a plate, while others received baskets of bread. I ordered the house specialty Shrimp Scampi. It was awful. The pasta was overcooked and tasted like ramen noodles with 2 chicken flavor packs. The shrimp was just ok. My boyfriend had the crabcakes with red potatoes and steamed veggies. The veggies were warm- at best, definitely not hot or fresh. The potatoes and crabcakes were good- not worth the price good, but ok. Our server took our order and disappeared. Our drinks sat empty at the table. A hostess finally stopped over took our dishes- which were more than half full, a clear indication that the meal was not satisfactory- and did not bother to ask if there was an issue. She asked if she could get us anything else- we asked to have our drinks refilled, to cancel our cobbler order (which I had looked forward to eating for the past year) and to bring our bill. She brought the check and said I am sorry that she doesnt seem to be doing her job and gave us the locals discount. It is such a disappointment- what a great restaurant this used to be. If anyone knows where the talent from this restaurant has gone, please let me know, especially if it is another local restaurant.

Nice view, nice dining room. They sat us in the VIP room which loses the ambiance. They way over cooked our filet mignion which was a shocker especially for the price. We asked for medium and it came out completely burnt. I have had steaks at Morton’s and Ruths Chris for $15 less that we’re a better selection and cooked perfectly. Stick to the seafood.

So sorry this is where we went for our anniversary dinner. Food was AWFUL but the service was Google and the view was great. Not sure what’s going on at this place but view and service will only carry you but so far.

We ate at the high tide part of riverwalk and it was a total waste of time. They were out of all seafood and they ran out of their on tap ale. How does a restaurant run out of food? It’s called planning and they could have made a lot more money if they had something to eat? I don’t know how good it is because we never sampled it. Ask before you sit down?
