Complete FAILURE!!. River’s Edge BuffetSaturday night at 5:30 it was about 1/2 full at this timeBUT to start our experience we didn’t even have someone come and get our drink order until we here HALF way finished eating.. This is so ridiculous why cant we just get our own drink? We dont need someone to do that a a buffet. So after this girl finally had time to get us a drink we NEVER show her again the rest of our dinner. Now the food. FIRST thought was where is all of the food? I am serious, the selection is so much smaller than I had expected for the $18 a person price. The Prime Rib was still pouring blood out of it. It wasnt pink it was RED. Two people in front of me both asked for a piece that wasnt rare, but there was none and they all passed. Then the pork roast had good flavor but was way OVER COOKED. Which sucked, because we still DID NOT have anything to drink (service sucked). We also tried the Pot Roast, it was so stringy it reminded me of my childhood eating my grandmothers stringy/chewy pot roast (NOT a good memory). The pizza was only OK, but way below Papa Murphy taste, they would be better off buying Papa Murphys pizza and serving that. The mash potatoes where so lumpy I was actually eating one inch chunks of potatoes. I thought Mashed potatoes should be MESSED, yet another FAIL! The macaroni and cheese had no seasoning, hey but there was salt and pepper on the table. There was premade chicken stripes. You cant screw that up can you? Well there was not BBQ or sweet and sour sauce to dip them into. Hey I never did find any ketchup either. The Dessert Everything is SMALL, everything is one bite, BUT everything I tried tasted very good.!Hey should I even mention the Bus Boy? He was cleaning a table close to use and drop a few cups on the floor. Then ten minutes later cleaning another table next to use and drop 2-3 plates on the ground. I said are you kidding me, who does the hiring here? Its a joke? Conclusion:OK service Sucks (Fire them all, self-serve drinks and lower the prices)Dinner food suckedDessert was the only semi bright spotEat at Fat Burger, or Golden Corral before you comePossibly the worse buffet in Spokane for the money
Ate there again tonight because our waitress last night said they had prime rib EVERY NIGHT. not so…it was a ripoff for 33 bucks for two…golden corral would have been better. very bummed…of course last nights waitress wasnt there tonight. All they had was a bottom round roast that was like leather and a way sakty ham. seafood night or nothing04 Dec, 2012Had a rockin dinner here…seafood night. Three types of crab….king snow and dungeness. Nice salad bar…the prime rib was perfect. best creme brullee ever
I’ll try someplace else next time.. There was nothing remarkable about the buffet line. We were there on a Thursday, which means we had the plain jane buffet. No better than any standard buffets on N. Division or the valley. Since we’d paid before we could even look, I felt ripped off because I wouldn’t have shelled out the money had I known it was so plain. The listing for the plain, non-seafood buffet needs to have two $$, not one $. The complimentary valet parking okay, except you have to walk a rather long distance along the edge of the slot machines before you get to the restaurant pay station. Add the steps, and I’ll bet I didn’t walk any less than I would’ve at a strip mall buffet.
One of the worst buffets I have been to. The staff was unattentive and were hard to find. The food was COLD. Save your money and try some place else!!!
I like the new changes. As casino buffet’s go, you don’t expect much sitting in a dining room full of senior citizens and that was the case with this buffet at the Northern Quest Casino but I was pleasantly surprised. How good everything was. I don’t know what changed but all the entres were fresh and flavorful you could taste the loads of butter and spices in everything. The prime rib was melt in your mouth tender, seasoned nicely and the other side selections were very tasty. Especially, the mashed potatoes you could taste that they were not just out of a box but real potatoes with loads of butter. It was nice to see some unique items like crispy duck breast and the upscale desserts like cream burlee. Everything I had was very yummy. Our waiter was attentive and made sure our drinks were full and empty dishes removed promptly. I have heard rumors that there had been some chef changes at Northern Quest Casino and whomever he or she is they have made the much needed improvements this buffet needed.
