Really cozy place, really good food and excellent drinks. This is a hidden jewel. Close to the two main motels on the island. Right across the street from Island Country Inn. The pizza oven is cozy in the winter. The outdoor seating is perfect for summer. Truly quality food. Fresh ingredients. This is NOT a Dominos type pizza place. The basil is garden fresh. The owner Mike knows how to make a cocktail. Tip from Helga: the outdoor dining could be better. The patio furniture is a little flimsy. Think taverna style painted wood chairs/tables (like Bay Hay sells) sun umbrellas. By summer 2013 this could be a really cool outdoor area. It will add to the limited seating inside. Hands down the absolute BEST quality pizza on the island (yes, I have tried them all).

Possibly the best I’ve had. The pizza menu may make the salads seems tame, but one shouldnt discount the fabulous carpaccio or the ultra fresh salads, the caprase in march actually captures something of summer and the Brussels sprouts were simply divine. It’s almost a shame to bring up the massaged kale last, but dear goddess, the currants and the gorgonzola really bring a rather bland vegetable to the front of the table. Add on witty kitchen service and a Terrifically dedicated jack-of-all-trades owner/manager/bartender and you’ve got an amazing secret spot on bainbridge. The perfect go-to spot for a quick pick-up dinner, a friend visiting from off island, or even a visitor from a different coast…Bene delivers. Except they don’t deliver. You’ll have to make the drive to see Mike in person.
