Please go to another restaurant until theses guys get their act together. OK food but the service is horrible and there are several much better choices. This is the second time Ive had a bad experience here. Ive been trying this deli as I live on the island and I really want to like this place. I ordered two sandwiches with chips to go. They were busy so I expected to wait. However, I waited and waited (30 min+) until I saw several people pick up their order who ordered after me. I went to the counter to ask only to see my order sitting on the table. I asked our these mine? to which the clueless cashier said, could be, we lost the ticket. When I got home my hot pastrami was cold and soggy.
It’s the meat that really bumps sandwiches from good to great (the bread matters, too). The meats at Hitchcock were outstanding. The place is deli-butcher shop-restaurant, so it seems a priority. We went to the cafe/deli side for lunch. I had the OG Roast Beef. The Wife had pastrami. Both were excellent. The Wife complimented the soft-but-chewy, fresh breads on both. The Cookie Project: I also got a chocolate chip cookie, as I often do. Chopped chocolate made for very chocolatey bites. The center was very soft, the edges just slightly harder. Sprinkling of salt on top like fancy bakers like to do. A good cookie.

This place is top notch. I’ll visit this eatery everytime I visit from Seattle. The roasted turkey sandwich is one of the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Amazing turkey, fresh sourdough bread, great texture, and memorable flavors. Great space and ambiance. Very special espresso machine. Support this place.
