Grizzly chicken thigh fajitas cold. Waited 50 minutes for my smoked chicken fajitas. When they arrived, the entire plate was cold. I cut into the chicken and couldn’t cut it due to grizzle. It appeared the chicken was boiled and soaked in some kind of soupy sweet sauce. I called for the waitress( the older woman with the short curl blond hair). She said oh ny God, oh my God and took my plate. 10 minutes later she said they were cooking chicken Breat for my fajitas versus what I was served, thighs. The menu does not say thighs. I told her I did not want the chicken and would order something else. She had only assumed I wanted to take my chances with the chicken again. We sat for sometime while my husband enjoyed his rib dish. The fireplace had gone out earlier in our order and finally she got gown on the floor with her skirt up in the air trying to restsrt it. GROSS! As we left, the kitchen staff came through with 2 plates and knocked 1 into my jacket arm. Food all over me. They continued to serve that plate to another customer. Again, gross! I will never go back. This was my one and only visit.
Heavy, greasy & WAY overpriced (even for Bainbridge)! Over a couple times we’ve tried: chili relleno (yuck!!), crazy ceasar (soaked in dressing & loaded with heavy meat), smoked chicken enchilada (yuck!), fish taco special (sub par), chicken tacos (okay), chimichanga (good but really heavy/rich). Just very unauthentic-canned & processed & plopped on a plate 🙁 bummer! Service however was awesome each time we dined here. Won’t go back though.
Don’t do! Angry servers and sub par food. Much better on the island. Left me questioning: Did that margarita have any tequila in it?
This is one of my favorite restaraunts. It’s a frequent birthday dinner destination. The margaritas are the best I’ve had in Washington and the food is wonderful. I have a hard time venturing out from the crab chimichanga which is always great, but everything else on the menu has been amazing as well. I highly recommend San Carlos!
Great food! Excellent service! It’s a little pricey but what isn’t in this area? Parking is a little cramped but it was good overall.
San Carlos. Okay food, but way overpriced. Tables are really close together which makes it really cramped. The staff is sometimes rude
No bueno. I love SW/Mexican food. This was pedestrian at best. The food tasted canned and not fresh. Warmed over beans that were uninspired, tasteless and pasty. The margaritas were equally as marginal. The mix was very harsh, again, probably straight out of a bottle, not a homemade syrup. Slice of lime for taste was a weak attempt for a coverup. Even the added grand marnier couldn’t save it. This type of lackluster experience gives this regional cuisine a bad name. There are much better choices on the island.
