Pleasant dining. We have been here many times and have enjoyed the ambience and competent, friendly service. Their menu gives lots of choices from traditional Japanese dishes to Americanized fusion courses. We enjoy their excellent sashimi and tempura dishes and have tried several other menu items. Sushi is excellent. Sukiyaki dishes are OK but not prepared at table in traditional Japanese fashion.Hospitality has always been outstanding and friendly. We have taken small children and elderly family members here and have always had positive experiences. There are many menu options, all well prepared. On a recent visit our main courses were a little slower than usual arriving so the owner graciously comped one of our plates without being asked.Sake and beer selections are good complements to good Japanese cuisine.
I love this place and take my kids and husband there for his lunch . Very friendly and clean place . Sometimes it takes a little time to get food but worth the wait i’n the end 🙂
Its okay. I have only had nigiri here and it was quite good. Fresh and well made – not a lot of variety though. The place is pretty, very clean and the staff friendly.
Not Very Good. We went to SuBI about a week ago, on a Saturday evening. Because it was on Bainbridge we sort of assumed it would be high quality, but that was a bad assumption. We were seated after about a 5 min. wait which was fine. And the staff were very nice. But it took forever to place our order and double that, at least, to see any food — over half an hour! First we had a Boss Roll and did enjoy that. But that’s the only thing we liked. The spider roll was NOT good, it tasted like it had been sitting around for 15 min. before being served. We had a variety of sushi, and as one other review said, they were poorly constructed and fell apart as soon as they were touched. I’ve never come across that before, but it was true. As we left I noticed 3 sushi chefs at the sushi bar. Considering it’s not a big restaurant, I can’t see why it took forever to get each of our sushi orders. Perhaps they are very inexperienced, that would explain the poor quality, too. I wouldn’t recommend SuBI to any of my friends, sorry. We much prefer Hakata in Silverdale!
Clean, tasty, but noisy. Good food. Clean. The other sushi on the island is like someone’s back porch. Friendly staff. Fair prices. Friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back again. It’s often too noisy to have a conversation which is kind of odd for a sushi place. Tasty sake selection.
I am a regular. SUBI Sushi is a weekly habit now. The restaurant has really come into it’s own, with busy nights and weekend traffic consisting of quite satisfied patrons. I love the sushi chefs, and I have also developed a relationship with the staff and the owners. The Spider roll is world class, and I have the Yaki Udon or the Curry Udon when the weather gets gloomy or cold.I take dates and new friends there all the time, without fail. I am heading there right now, as a matter of fact.Cheers!
Waste of Money. Tried galbi (marinated boneless short ribs) — a waste of $20 (yes, $20 for one entree!). Exceedingly poor quality meat — gristly and fatty. Beef was flavorless (as if there had been almost no marination). Have had MUCH better galbi/kalbi beef elsewhere (not on BI). Have not tried the sushi — will give them one more try for nigiri.
